Finally someone who will wrestle Walgreens into filling
Simple, helpful, does what they say they will do. Don’t expect a long session - this is best for folks who have lost continuity of care with a prior provider and have documentation to back up their prior mental health prescription(s). In my experience, 99% of issues with telemedicine come down to pharmacists who don’t want to deal with the risk of filling scheduled/controlled meds, so they delay or deny upfront and hope you screw off to somewhere else after enough hassle. Thankfully, Medvidi helps with this by immediately calling and faxing physical copies of their legitimate prescriptions and answering any pharmacy questions. It’s all seemingly “compliance theater” on the part of Walgreens, etc. I’ve filled scripts there for years but the moment I have a scheduled medication, Walgreens suddenly has all sorts of excuses and delays. It’s entirely predictable at this point. So I really appreciate that Medvidi has - so far - stepped up and actually done the legwork to assuage the ego or anxiety of Walgreens’ pharmacists who seem to try to wiggle out of filling even my very modest RX… every single month. It’s still nerve-wracking and requires a patient, diligent process every month starting three days before my refill just to ensure I have the refill in hand by the time I run out. But it’s overall worth it, and really nice to *finally* be at a place in life where I have a steady prescription for an issue that took a decade to finally admit needed RX intervention. I wish pharmacists wouldn’t make it such a painful experience but they seem to be untouchable by the average citizen. For those reporting issues prior to the dreaded “wait and see if the pharmacy will fill” phase, it is likely your state has stringent telehealth laws that are making doctors jump through hoops alongside in addition to the pharmacy hoops that exist everywhere. I wish I could help, and sorry that you have had a different experience. Persistence is key, that’s all I’ve learned. Also, thanks to Hareem who most recently helped get today’s pharmacist on a leash and committed to a specific fill date prior to a trip coming up very soon. I was really worried about juggling these issues while also trying to get ready for a big trip. They work magic!
