IKEA 0% Financing is a LIE!
Like other users have stated in their reviews for IKEA's Ikano Bank, the advertised 0% financing is not actually available to everyone who holds this IKEA card. This is exactly how they trick you into either paying in full or accumulating interest rates of over 14%. According to the official IKEA and Ikano websites, whenever you make a purchase at an IKEA store using this card, you are supposed to have up to 30 days to select whether you want to pay for that purchase in interest-free installments. This information is publicly confirmed by IKEA, Ikano, their websites, and their promotional materials. As a result, you confidently buy the furniture first, commit to the payment at the checkout counter, and expect to select your payment plan right after. However, after doing so and formally informing Ikano Bank through their official channels that you want to split the transaction into a 0% interest installment plan, you are suddenly informed that this option only applies to "newer customers." This highly restrictive limitation is purely internal and cannot be found anywhere in their public advertisements. To make matters worse, they simply ignore emails, and their phone customer service is completely incoherent. Their answers range from falsely confirming that your financing plan is all set up, to saying no 0% financing is possible, to stating that you can only finance the purchase if you accept a +14% interest rate. No matter what happens, just as other users have reported below, you are ultimately charged the total balance in full on your next card statement. The end result? If you leave an IKEA store expecting to pay a manageable 100 EUR a month, you will suddenly find yourself forced to pay 1,000 EUR all at once, leading to a massive financial headache. Trying to complain about it is a nightmare due to their terrible, confusing customer service and deceiving business practices. In summary: STAY AWAY FROM IKEA AND IKANO BANK FINANCING! The advertisements by IKEA and Ikano Bank are deeply deceiving, and the support teams of both companies are completely unable to provide a solution. If you still decide to use their services, be fully prepared to pay for your purchases in full at once or be ready to engage in legal actions.
