BLACK+DECKER

I bought a Black & Decker drill that came with a battery and charger brand new from Amazon. Within the first 14 days I hope issues with the Chuck on my Black & Decker drill not holding the drill bit while I'm drilling and slip out. I reached out to Amazon and it wouldn't take the product back because unfortunately this was a birthday gift and I threw away the box. I reached out to Black & Decker and they said they weren't able to assist me cuz it hasn't been 30 days yet. I waited 31 days called Black & Decker spent 1 hour and 20 minutes on the phone with them. I sent in a copy of the receipt at my family member provided after they purchased the drill for me sent pictures of the bottom of the drill top of the drill to show there wasn't any damage of it since the all the details on the battery with the manufactured date on both the battery and the drill. The purse on the phone said they would be processing the exchange. A day later or two I received an email saying that at my cost I have to send a drill to a facility out of state. And there's no time frame that is provided on when I would get it back. I calculated the cost of the box the shipping material the time paying Uber to arrive to the shipping facility and Uber to arrive back to the facility and it would be close to $60 I paid $79 for the drill. I called back to Black & Decker and explain the situation to another rep and a supervisor to have the same results. I asked to speak to an escalation supervisor to explain the situation and what I've done so far that was not provided. Black & Decker customer service was the worst customer service I've experienced on tools in the last 20 years. Hyper tough from Walmart has a better customer service policy than Black & Decker just absolutely bottom of the barrel. Do yourself a favor and do not buy any Black & Decker products. You might as well go to Walmart or harbor freight and get it from there. I purchased a replacement drill to replace this horrid horrible piece of garbage product from Black & Decker at harbor freight so far I'm almost 2 months in without a single problem. And I can go to the store anytime and have the battery or the unit replaced without any issues. Ryobi has a 3-year warranty compared to this junk you get from Black & Decker that has a one or two-year warranty max.
