I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe other small business owners deserve to hear about my experience. As the owner of a small business, I signed up for Thumbtack after asking very specific questions about how their lead system worked. Based on the information I was given, I believed I would only be charged under certain circumstances. My experience did not match those expectations. I was charged for numerous leads that never turned into paying jobs. In many cases, I either received no response from the customer or was unable to connect with them, yet the charges continued. For a small business trying to grow, those costs add up quickly. I encourage anyone considering the platform to carefully read the terms, understand exactly how lead charges work, and make sure the service fits their budget before signing up. What works for one business may not work for another, but in my experience, it was not a good fit for A&L Spotless Solutions LLC. I hope Thumbtack improves its transparency during the onboarding process so new businesses fully understand when and why they will be charged. Small businesses deserve clear, accurate information before making financial decisions.
