We were in crisis mode…
We were in crisis mode! Our 90 year-old mom, who is legally blind and has dementia, was supposed to leave rehab the Sunday of Memorial Day after a 3-week hospital stay, and return to her assisted living facility. That Thursday night before at 9pm, the head nurse of her facility told us she could not return to the assisted living where she’d been for nearly two years. We had no idea what to do or where to turn, and had to act fast. So, I went to the website for A Place for Mom and they were WONDERFUL! They listened carefully to our situation, asked us a few questions so that they had a clear picture of mom’s needs and said they’d call us back in 30 minutes. Sure enough, the phone rang and we were scheduled to view several facilities the next day and the following. A Place for Mom took us from panic mode to thoughtful next steps. Out of the five or six recommended facilities that had immediate openings, we were able to select a lovely new home for our mom that could accommodate her needs and make her feel welcomed. No more panic, just peace of mind. We are grateful for the services provided by A Place for Mom.
