Ordered the Cubia Fabric Light on…
Ordered the Cubia Fabric Light on 02/05/26. The clown cart of issues since has included: - Strike 1: Website advertised as “ready to ship” with shipping in 4-6 weeks. This ended up being a blatant lie. When I emailed 4 weeks after the order date having not received any updates of tracking number I was advised that my order was still to complete production and quality checks - so not “ready to ship” at all. Offered a 5% refund for inconvenience as I had been relying on this light arriving earlier to be used. At this point I’m thinking if service/product is good from henceforth things aren’t all bad. - Strike 2: The light arrives 03/08/2026 (three months after order placed). Contrary to the website information at that time which said it fitted E26/E27 bulbs it turns out it actually appears to have an integrated tube light. Not ideal because I’d purchased E27 bulbs in preparation for the lamp’s arrival (had three months after all) and there is now a new cost of having to get an electrician to replace the LED light strip at some point in the future when that eventually dies versus a supermarket lightbulb purchase switch. I email Vakkerlight support to seek more information on what bulb is in it - the support team emails back saying it’s an E27 which it obviously isn’t so when I send a photo they renege and then acknowledge it’s actually an integrated LED tube contrary to what’s on their website. Get offered a 10% refund at this point which would be a small fraction of what the future lamp repair cost will be but I take it because I’m already done at this point. - Strike 3: After being used for less than 5 cumulative hours, and less than a week after delivery the lamp fails. I ask for a refund because I have clearly received a faulty product and support asks me to dismantle the lamp so they can review if it’s a LED strip or driver failure. They opine that it’s a driver failure and placate that this should be an easy fix without soldering and a replacement driver will be sent. I’m done but accept this, trusting their advice that will be easy even without electrical skills/acumen. - Strike Four: The next day I get a contradictory email from support now requesting I take a photo of the driver “especially the label showing its input/output voltage, wattage and other specifications”. This is the end of my tether. How does the company NOT KNOW THE VOLTAGE, WATTAGE AND OTHER SPECIFICATIONS OF THEIR OWN LAMP. I respond, again, that the photos/video I have already supplied to them already best show what I am able to dismantle of the lamp, and evidently I cannot access the driver with my non-electrician skillset and knowledge set. I do not need to be responsible for destroying this already inept light. This is not acceptable for a light that costed over $700 USD at purchase. For the third or fourth time Vakkerlight I am requesting a full refund, now publicly. I’ll bet they don’t listen to or facilitate that here either. At this point I’ve had so many defensive responses with excuses and placations that I’m not even confident they’re up to a full refund when they’ve failed a customer, repeatedly. Would’ve been better off with a light from Ikea honestly. Do not recommend. Update following reply from Vakkerlight: Unsurprisingly the two “hassle-free” resolution options offered by the company were two forms of light fixture/wiring replacement that I would have to use to personally conduct repair of the light despite having no prior electrical skills. No refund was offered in any form despite receiving a faulty product. So buyer beware - if you end up with a lemon like I did they won’t greet you with a refund option and be prepared to be asked to be tech/lighting repair support yourself. They don’t tell you that on the website.
