Buckle up
Buckle up, this is a long one. I do not leave negative reviews as I don’t know that they do anything, but I have been so thoroughly put off by this experience at every turn. We’ve been engaged with trugreen for a while and all services are cancelled now. We used them for lawn weed killing for a long while and while I noticed the crab grass, spurge, and every other kind of weed were not going away but rapidly multiplying I figured it still helped. I work over 100 hrs a week as a caregiver and 20+ hours a week at a regular job. I am only paid for my regular job. All of my spending money goes into my garden. Gardening and plants is my true passion but with how much I work I am typically too wiped out to weed more than an hour each week. So, we engaged Trugreen to spray for weeds in the beds in my yard. Earlier this year I ordered some specialty flowers online to make bouquets with and planted in my yard. This included statice plants, Billy button, and a few others. These were small plants that were clearly planted in cleared ground with mulch pushed back. Four of the statice plants were dead after the first visit, and a small plant I had been nurturing for several years called Dwarf Mormon Tea. I was upset but I let any further action slip my mind as I work a *lot*. After the next visit, 80% of my huge rosemary bush, about a dozen zinnias that were not yet flowering, one more statice plants, my billy button, and worst of all, my native showy milkweed that I planted for monarchs were dead. Several more plants including my babies breath were hit with weed killer but not totally dead. The babies breath is now 100% dead. I SOBBED when I saw this. There were also neon green footprints in my lawn I’m assuming from weed killer on their boots. Not to mention, the vast majority of the weeds were untouched! We placed a complaint, trugreen corporate said they would send out a local rep. The local rep came out the following week and said a trainer and trainee had come to my house. I commented that I was home during both visits. I comment that atatice does look a bit like it could be a weed, but I didn’t think it’s unreasonable for someone to knock on my door and ask “hey some of these are kinda funky, what should we not spray?” Or with the zinnias, I didn’t think it was unreasonable to compare flowering and not yet flowering plants and conclude they are the same thing and not weeds. The manager was very kind, agreed with me, and said he would call me back and “make things right.” Neither myself nor the other person on the account got any calls. And I’m not going to call back to remind someone to do the right thing, especially the second time around. We noticed the crab grass was growing especially bad last week and told the company that if the weeds weren’t dead we were cancelling. The following $77 service was free because of that but guess what. None of the weeds are dead. None of them. I found a crabgrass growing out of one of my sprinklers. feels a bit poetic. -10/10. This has been a huge mistake and has cost me a huge amount of time and money.
