No value in customer loyalty
I called Abt when the ice maker I purchased there stopped working. Abt appointment 1 - technician unable to repair and stated a $800 part is needed. Abt appointment 2 - technician installed part but Ice maker still not working. The technician said he’d call back in two days to see if the ice maker had started working because sometimes that happens. The technician damaged the cabinet we found out later. He never called back. Abt appointment 3 - my wife mentioned to technician that the water dispenser in the ice machine was not working. The water inlet was clogged. The part was never needed, however Abt threatened to turn to collections if I didn’t pay for the part. I’ve spent more than $50k at Abt over the years. I wish I hadn’t.
