Rula

I find using Rula to be horribly depressing

Rula is an online portal that connects patients and therapists. As a patient, you can browse and filter therapists by multiple criteria, book appointments, and they handle the video chat, basically the therapy zoom part. The website administers a standardized check-in. "In the past 2 weeks how often have you moved so slowly that other people noticed? Never, sometimes, often, more than half the days, everyday", that one. The functionality of the website is very limited, and it has no contact info, no way to say if you're having a problem with the website, no help button, no frequently asked questions, no how do we protect your data, nothing. So, its asking you vulnerable questions but remaining completely opaque. If you have a question, there is no answer, if you have a problem, there is no recourse. I find the experience of using the website horrifically dehumanizing. Its like maybe a disinterested clerk wearing sunglasses? a robot? a police officer? ask sensitive questions at you without any change of expression or reaction other than to repeat the line about if you think you are having a medical or psychiatric emergency call 9-1-1-. I do actually like my human therapist, but if there was ANY other way for me to see her than Rula, I would jump at the chance, even if i had to pay more. This is obviously, my very specific experience of using this website, maybe some people love it. The provider-finding functionalities are good. But, I would never, ever, ever recommend this therapy portal to anyone who was depressed, especially if they were specifically feeling isolated or sad about the corporate sterilization of human life. TL;DR: Rula feels like an empty concrete room with Robocop at the front desk.
