A guest's perspective
Most or all reviews here are from Hosts. Perspective of renters/lodgers/guests: It makes life easier/safer for hosts, BUT: As renter/guest it feels UNSAFE to enter data of EVERY ONE in the party, even when not mandatory from local authorities. We are asked for: - Passport ID / other valid Government ID. (Numbers entered manually or by taking a photo) - Date of birth. - Home addresses. - Phone number. And much more. Goverment IDs and personal information are thus stored in a way not conforming to many countries GDPR/DPA laws. Happy for the hosts though, the overall concensus seems to be they are happy with the service as they can feel safe.
