SHARGE

Disappointed after supporting SHARGEEK from the crowdfunding days

I’m extremely disappointed with how SHARGE handled my situation, especially considering I have been a loyal customer since the company’s early days. I purchased my SHARGEEK S100P 100W charger when it was launched through crowdfunding, back when the company was still known as SHARGEEK. I supported the product early on and have genuinely loved this charger for years, particularly its unique design and yellow color. Recently, one of the folding AC plug blades broke. I contacted SHARGE because I wanted to repair the charger, not get something for free. I even clearly told them that I was willing to pay for the repair, replacement part, or another solution because I like this particular product that much. Their response was that they don’t provide component-level repairs or replacement folding plug assemblies. They then asked me for my order information to see whether there were other options. Because I purchased it so many years ago through crowdfunding, I explained that I could no longer locate the original order details. The response I then received was simply: “Sorry, if you purchased this product via crowdfunding, it is now out of warranty.” That was extremely disappointing. I wasn’t asking for a free warranty replacement. I already acknowledged that the product was old and specifically said I was willing to pay to have it repaired or find another solution. What bothers me most is that early crowdfunding customers were there when the company needed people to financially support its products and help get the brand started. Years later, when one of those customers asks for some assistance and is even willing to pay for it, I expected more effort than simply being told the product is out of warranty. A company isn’t obligated to provide a lifetime warranty, and I understand that. But customer service is about more than whether something is technically under warranty. They could have offered a paid replacement option, refurbishment, trade-in, checked for old inventory, or at least given me a more thoughtful response. I went into this conversation as someone who genuinely loved the SHARGEEK brand and wanted to keep using one of its products. Unfortunately, the way this was handled has seriously changed how I feel about the brand. Supporting a company early should feel like it meant something, not like you’re forgotten once the warranty expires.
