Immediate contact ignored after flight date error
My original flight on 14 October was cancelled by the airline. During the free rebooking process, I believed I was selecting a flight on 15 October. However, the confirmation was issued for 16 October instead. What is particularly frustrating is that I contacted Trip.com customer service immediately after receiving the confirmation because the travel date did not match what I believed I had selected. Despite raising the issue within minutes and later escalating it to a senior representative, Trip.com refused to make any correction, offer any flexibility, or provide any goodwill compensation, stating that their system records showed that 16 October had been selected. As a long-time customer, I am disappointed by the lack of consideration given to the fact that I reported the issue immediately. Had 16 October genuinely been my intended choice, there would have been no reason for me to contact support straight away and request a change to 15 October. I will now travel on 16 October, but I feel this situation could have been handled far better from a customer service perspective.
