G2G Support Is a Scammer’s Best Friend — Absolutely Zero Protection for Buyers

Title: G2G Support Is a Scammer’s Best Friend — Absolutely Zero Protection for Buyers My experience with G2G has been absolutely terrible. I encountered a scammer who submitted a fabricated video supposedly showing him purchasing my items through the in-game auction house. The video showed 900 items, while my actual listings consisted of stacks of 1,000, 1,000, and 60 items. My listings were nowhere to be seen in his video. I repeatedly explained these discrepancies and provided evidence, but G2G support failed to address the actual facts of the case. What made this experience even worse was G2G’s handling of the dispute. After an escalation, G2G refunded only half of my money while leaving the other half of the order open and under the scammer’s control. This forced me to start the dispute process all over again, giving the same person another opportunity to submit additional fabricated evidence and continue the scam. Despite my repeated requests to close the order and resolve the case, support kept sending generic, scripted responses telling me to wait another 48 hours for the seller to respond. Even after the case had already been escalated and a partial refund had been issued, G2G reopened the dispute process instead of properly resolving it. I was left fighting the same battle repeatedly while the person I reported was given more time and opportunities to continue. G2G’s support did not protect me. It actively made the situation worse. Their procedures created remarkably favorable conditions for fraudulent activity, while providing virtually no meaningful protection or assistance to the buyer. Nobody seemed interested in addressing the evidence, preventing further abuse, or closing the order to stop the situation from escalating. Eventually, G2G refunded the purchase in Store Credits, and even then, the order remained open. The entire process was an exhausting cycle of delays, automated replies, repeated disputes, and unnecessary complications. I have never experienced such ineffective customer support in a marketplace dispute. G2G’s approach gives scammers time and opportunities to manipulate the process, while legitimate users are left to deal with the consequences themselves. If you expect G2G to protect you when a transaction turns into a scam, do not count on it. Based on my experience, buyer protection is practically nonexistent when you actually need it. G2G needs to fundamentally change how it investigates fraud and handles disputes, because its current approach fails the very people it is supposed to protect.
