Strongly advise against booking with Agoda – Undisclosed fees and terrible customer support
I strongly advise against booking anything through Agoda. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was forced to pay an undisclosed mandatory fee of 70 EUR for cleaning, which was never stated anywhere in my original booking voucher or conditions. Booking ID: 701776879 Before my trip, I explicitly contacted Agoda customer support asking whether any mandatory cleaning or additional fees applied to my reservation, just to be sure. Agoda completely failed to provide any information about these costs. Meanwhile, the hotel claims they had already informed Agoda about this fee in advance. The customer support is appalling. For the past two days, I have been trying to get help via chat. Instead of taking responsibility, an agent sent me an updated hotel price list post factum and simply closed the ticket as "resolved". Sending fee details after check-in is unacceptable. This practice clearly breaches EU consumer rights regarding price transparency. I am entitled to a full refund of the 70 EUR that was withheld from my contract. If this is not resolved immediately and refunded to my account, I will submit an official complaint to the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) and relevant consumer protection authorities.
