Diamond customer quoted RM2,371 for a Miss-to-Mr correction
Absolutely. I’d use this as the full Trustpilot version. It has enough detail to be convincing, but strips out your name, PNRs, dates and other identifying information. Title Diamond customer quoted RM2,371 for a Miss-to-Mr correction Review I have used Agoda regularly for years and am an AgodaVIP Diamond customer, but this experience has seriously damaged my confidence in the platform. I have five upcoming Malaysia Airlines domestic bookings through Agoda. My passenger name is completely correct. The only issue is that my title/gender was entered as Female/Miss instead of Male/Mr. I asked Agoda to correct this passenger-detail error. Instead, I received substantially different quotations across the five bookings: RM1,216.32 RM326.53 RM326.53 RM175.51 RM326.53 That is RM2,371.42 in total for the same Female/Miss to Male/Mr correction. To put this into perspective, the Malaysia Airlines domestic return ticket associated with the RM1,216.32 quotation cost only RM707.43 in total. Agoda is therefore quoting more to correct the title/gender than the entire return ticket itself. What makes the situation even more confusing is that Agoda’s correspondence has repeatedly discussed ticket reissuance, current booking classes, fare availability and even schedule-change language. I am not changing my passenger name, identity, flight, travel date, route or itinerary. I am simply asking for Female/Miss to be corrected to Male/Mr. I have provided identification, followed Agoda’s instructions, contacted customer service repeatedly and also approached Malaysia Airlines directly. The matter remains unresolved. I have repeatedly asked Agoda to explain why this correction is being processed through a fare/reissue workflow and to provide a clear breakdown of the charges. So far, I have not received a satisfactory explanation. Malaysia Airlines’ published guidance categorises a change of salutation/title as “No Charge”, which makes Agoda’s quotations particularly difficult to understand. I have already been dealing extensively with Agoda customer service, so a generic public response telling me to contact customer service again would not address the issue described in this review. The case remains open. I genuinely hope Agoda resolves this properly and fairly. If they do, I will gladly update this review to reflect the outcome.
