WIFI did not work without repeated front desk workarounds
The WIFI did not work initially, and required a man from the office to come byi and fix it. The man quickly described what he did to FORCE it to work when I asked, but without showing me and without making the steps to remedy the problem clear. OF course it failed again after I left briefly, put the PC in "sleep" mode while I was out, so I had to call them to come in again. Again, there was no explanation as to what to do to fix it the next time. Finally I was told by the lady at the front desk that their WIFI setup did not pass the newer edits being invoked on my new 2026 laptop had, so they had to "force" it. On the 3rd morning, the WIFI again did not work, and the same unfriendly man said he would come in a half hour.. He never came, never called, so I checked out a day earlier than planned. I was told upon check out that they had called their tech support who actually fixed the root cause, The lady said didn't call or stop by to tell me it had been resolved m but they I was later told they assumed it worked for me later when I didn't call back. That was the last straw. They knew I really needed WIFI but couldn't even get back to me to say they had finally addressed the root cuase. I was attracted by the the vintage sign and the JOHN MUIR evocation, but the man who handles first level tech support is condescending and does not want to support the guest in getting this basic advertised amenity working consistently. The much kinder woman who worked the front desk explained later that when they got their internet service to fix the issue, they didn't contact me but just figured it work when I retried since I DID NOT CALL them back. A very UNHELPFUL assumption..... It never worked for me without their intervention, so I basically left to get a better room with proper WIFI. . Very inadequate and consescending unhelpful treatment from that man (who may be the owner) regarding what is a very basic motel amenitiy.
