I am not really certain how to review my SmileSet experience. I had really high hopes for a great outcome, but after months and months of diligently wearing my aligners, I have to say I am unimpressed. When I first started wearing them, I was told to make sure to have them on for 22 hours a day. For a person in customer service that has to talk for hours at a time, it was extremely painful. I did receive great customer service when I called to express my concerns about how badly I was suffering with cut gums and tongue from trying to talk while the aligners were in, but had to make so many adjustments to them just to deal with the discomfort that I finally called and was told to switch to the "evening" plan. Once I did this, the pain and gum cutting stopped and I no longer had to adjust the aligners to fit comfortably. I wish I had been offered that option from the beginning. Unfortunately, I do not feel that much changed in my smile. My teeth only moved slightly over the course of the whole 7 months. I opted not to bother with the retainer. What would be the point? My teeth are not straight enough to bother. Overall, I don't know how I feel about the money I spent to try and improve my smile. It certainly was a disappointment in my opinion. I don't think I would recommend it to anyone. I do have to say, however that the customer service reps were very helpful and always professional and understanding. It just did not work out well for me.
