Horrible service by GM

My daughter and I came to Newnan the week of July 27th- Aug 1st and the room was unacceptable! When we arrived we were told our room wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be till at least 3:15 or later so I let the front desk I would wait for our room. So I set in the front lobby and about 15 min later she said let me show you a room which I thought was odd but I followed her to the room on 1st floor when she opened the room the temp was freezing and she didn’t know how to make it go off or turn down and she asked if we would take this room!? We did after I went to wall and turned thermostat up and it finally shut off. So my daughter and I unloaded the truck and off we went to visit friends and when we came back that night we noticed a loud alarm going off and went ahead and took our showers and it still was randomly going off. I called front desk and a gentleman said no one was there who could authorize me a new room due to smoke alarm going off non stop so he looked for a battery and at 11pm he came and put new battery in alarm. He left we went to bed and about 1hr later the alarm started again so I called and was told that the gentleman I spoke with had left and no one could help us until am. I asked for another room again and was told none available and to tough it out till am when they would have a maintenance man come look at it. So all night we dealt with this horrible alarm randomly going off. The next morning I called my husband and he was on phone with Expedia and was letting them know and requesting a new room or a refund so we could find a place to stay without this issue so we could sleep. The GM of the hotel told me no rooms available and I asked if he would tell Expedia the truth about what’s going on instead of telling Expedia that no alarm in hotel was going off. He asked me what do want so I repeated again and he said I will not give you a refund and quoted some 24hr rule which should not apply to this situation since this was NOT my fault due to their alarm. At this point my husband is on speaker phone asking me for a gentle man who was the GM for this hotel and he would NOT speak to him and that my husband could call him there and laid a business card on the counter and I said sir he is on the phone and can hear you and is asking you to speak with him and he refused! So my husband got off phone with me and called the GM which also said he would not tell Expedia about the alarms since he said to them it’s not the hotel alarm. After my husband finally getting GM to listen and let Expedia know the truth my husband later asks did you get a new room and I said where?? He said go to front and ask again for a new room I said after being told 3x no refund and no room by extended stay he said go ask which I personally think they should have came to our room and let me know they were moving us! Instead I went to front and the lady from day before not the GM who was standing at front desk never apologized or said glad we could fix for you or anything she moved us to the 4th floor. When my daughter and I opened that door it was blazing hot and you could tell that room had not been occupied in the last 24hrs or less which means they could have moved us the night before!! We ended up staying the rest of the week and still no apologies from GM which is unacceptable and he saw us coming and going multiple times and I had to ask to get clean towels exchanged which he gave me a bag for and never spoke or apologized for this horrible experience but let the lady in the back take care of my towel needs. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL!! Horrible customer service and the GM is not a good GM in my opinion I will say the assistant manager was kind and apologized for the situation and for the GMs lack of hospitality and consideration! So avoid this place I am sure their are other hotels who would love your business. I have names of all individuals involved! I would love to hear from corporate on this. Do better GM
