Unresolved Payment for Promotional Work
Approximately four months ago, I was contacted by Debutify regarding the creation of a paid promotional video. I communicated with a Debutify team member, and we discussed the video title, scope of work, and agreed-upon compensation. Following these discussions, I was informed that payment would be sent, and based on those confirmations, I proceeded with the work in good faith. The work completed included researching the product, fully scripting the video, and filming the content in its entirety. At no point during this process was I informed that payment would not be made or that the agreement was no longer moving forward. Over the following months, I made multiple attempts to follow up regarding payment. During these communications, I was repeatedly told that payment would be made. Despite these assurances, payment was not received, and responses eventually became infrequent, with no reply for an extended period of time. I later communicated with Ricky Hayes, who identified himself as the owner of Debutify. He acknowledged that there had been internal changes within the company that contributed to delays and confusion. He also stated that Debutify still intended to move forward with the promotion and outlined a payment structure that included an advance payment prior to the promotion and the remaining balance following publication. As part of these discussions, he offered to increase the total compensation for the video. Following this, I was informed that payment would be processed at the end of the month and was asked to provide the necessary details to facilitate payment. Despite this, no payment was received, and no further confirmation regarding payment or next steps was provided. Since that time, I have been unable to obtain further responses regarding payment. Additionally, my ability to contact Ricky Hayes through Instagram is no longer available, as his account is no longer accessible to me. As of today, I have not received compensation for the completed work. This summary is intended solely to document the sequence of events and the current status of the unpaid promotional video.
