SCAMMING THE ELDERLY!!
SCAMMING THE ELDERLY!!! Worst “customer service” I’ve ever dealt with. You’d think for a prepaid service, you’d pretty much never have to deal with customer service. Wrong! I have been with Mint Mobile for a few years, I’ve had to contact them countless times for billing issues, and today was the final straw. I set up a 55+ plan for my father who is 83. It’s supposed to be $15/month, charged 3 months at a time. With taxes and whatnot it’s about $54 for the three months. Well, Mint is now claiming that this plan “expires” after 3 months and then unless you contact them, they’ll bump these seniors to any old plan they want. In the case with my dad, that means $129. I literally spent 4 hours on the phone today, getting the run around. The bots and the customer service humans were trying to tell me there is no such thing as a 55+ plan. Even though I have screen shots from 7 months ago when I first signed him up AND screenshots of their website TODAY showing the 55+ plans! After hours and hours of the run around, I’m then told my only option is to call a special number. You know, the age group famous for having hearing impairments (including myself) can only talk to someone on the phone. After waiting 40 minutes on hold to the most anxiety inducing hold music, I’m connected to someone with an extremely strong accent. Her coworkers were screaming and laughing so loud I couldn’t hear a word she was saying. I told her if she could please speak more slowly and clearly. And can she please ask her coworkers to stop screaming so I can hear her. Nope! They were having a party. After ages and ages of trying to understand her, the answer is no, I won’t be receiving a refund. How many elderly people are going through this same problem. Shame on you, Mint Mobile!
