Watch OUT
On Feb24, 2025 I signed up with 1800Accountant the salesman guaranteed me several times the $2949 would indeed cover return filings for 2 trusts, a personal, & a business. I asked specifically cause I know how my CPA did mine for the past 25 yrs. They were separate. My returns had a personal, & a trust return (the business was new in 2025). They assured me. My personal CPA charged $3200, I thought this was about right. Not until they sent me the paper to sign for electronic filing did I notice that they reported my Trust info into my personal 1040. This firm had my 2024 returns to go off of, they should've known to use a 1041, they are accountants (disguised as CPA's) they can & do all taxes!?? The next month (March) I changed my mind & tried to cancel. I was not comfortable doing taxes with someone that I do not know their qualifications. They would not let me out of the contract, but told me that all the people that worked for them in all their departments are extremely qualified, & yes in Trust returns as well. THEY ARE NOT. It was very difficult to communicate with my accountant & when I did it was hard to understand his english. english! I asked many times for a supervisor to call me, never happened. When i questioned about the separate returns I was directed to sales. Sales told me that I misunderstood but, I can add Trust filing for a fee. Their style of communication is inefficient. I was told to file an extension but not where or how or if I needed to include a payment. In fact I only filed with the Federal because I did not have clarification. My rental property was moved from a Schedule E to C which is for businesses not rentals. The building was classified as 20yrs old & it is 27. They claimed I purchased my rental in 2025 for depreciation at $110K which does not apply because it was bought in 2024. I tried so many times to have a teleconference to explain and verify we were on the same page with questions about 1099's or K-1's, if they called it was a feeble attempt a "one and done" if i didn't answer. These depreciations & a few other errors created a false loss on my returns. Mandating me to hire another firm to file 2025. People need to know 1800 is incompetent.
