I just want to write something about my experience with Mint Mobile so people can make an informed decision to do business with them or not. Day 1: My Mint Mobile account is hacked. The hackers created an Esim card and take over my phone number. They use this to get access to all my online accounts. I contacted Mint Mobile and told them of the situation. I was told that they were sending my issue to the fraud department and I would get an email in 24 hours updating me. 24 hours passed and no email. Day 2: I called back and gave them my ticket information. They told me they emailed me. I asked what email they used. They stated the email I told them was compromised and no longer had access to. I gave them a new email. I asked if we could set me up with a new account and eSIM for my phone. They said sure. I asked if I was going to have to pay for a new plan since my current plan was paid through the next 7 months. They stated that I would have to pay for a new account. I informed them that I had already paid for service. They made it clear that they were not going to provide me with service I already paid for. I mentioned that they had no problem providing the thieves with service I paid for and I got the scripted, “I know this is an inconvenience for you.” (I’d be hearing a lot of that in the coming days.) I was told that the fraud department would email me at my new email in 24 hours. Day 3: No email. I called again and they stated that they emailed me, that the ticket was closed, and the situation was resolved. I informed them that it was not resolved that I still was not being provided with service I paid for, that thieves were still able to use my phone number, and I had been given the run around. At this point I gave up. Since I was no longer going to be provided with service I demanded that my new phone I bought through them less than 30 days before be unlocked so I could get another company to provide me the service they refused to give. I demanded that my current account be closed so no more damage could be done using my phone number and finally that I be given a refund for the time that they were not going to give me phone service that I had paid for. I was told they could not do any of these things. It took a considerable effort on my part to convince them to transfer me to a supervisor. The supervisor told me that all me demands would be met. My phone would unlock between 24 and 48 hours. I would get an email about a refund. And my compromised account was already suspended. I waited over 48 business hours. Day 7: no email. Phone not unlocked. Called again. I was told the phone was unlocked. I was told I was sent an email. Neither was true. They stated that they would unlock the phone in 24 hours. Day 8: Phone was not unlocked. I realized they were just telling me what I wanted to hear so I would leave them alone. They had no intention of taking care of a paying customer. To summarize I paid for service they refuse to provide. They lied to me about what they were doing about the situation at every single step. I no longer have a working phone. They turned a bad situation into a nightmare. If you are considering using Mint Mobile for cell services consider yourself warned.
