I would never recommend the OpenSky…
I would never recommend the OpenSky Secured Credit Card. I received my card just four days ago, and within a week I discovered there was a $35 annual fee. I called customer service immediately to cancel because I hadn't even used the card once. They refused to refund the annual fee. First, they offered me $20 to keep the account open. When I still said no, they increased the offer to $35 if I didn't close it. I still chose to close the account because I didn't want a card with an annual fee. Even after closing it, they told me I would still be charged the $35 annual fee and that it could take 4–8 weeks to receive my security deposit back by check. The $35 fee was taken from my debit card immediately along with my $200 security deposit. I don't remember the annual fee being clearly disclosed during the application process, and I felt very disappointed and misled. If you're looking for a secured credit card, I'd recommend the Self Visa® Secured Credit Card instead. It doesn't have an annual fee and, in my experience, is a much better option. I lost $35, but I'd rather pay that than keep an account with a company that left me feeling ripped off. Very disappointing.
