The phone technology and performance is very good. The problem we have is with Huawei the company and their tactics.
I removed many of Huawei and apps permissions to access the camera, microphone, contacts, msg, record calls etc because each permission allows app or Huawei to record, delete or alter my data and use my contacts, my camera and record our calls.
While my phone continued to operate Huawei kept insisting I enable permission. Eventually they blocked my call connection but only with my partner's Huawei.
I installed my sim card in a non smart phone but Huawei still blocks our calls to each other if our phones are on different cell towers. When both phones are on the same cell tower (at home) the connection is available.
This is typical Chinese corporate intimidation tactics used to maintain access to foreign users privacy so buyers beware, you have zero privacy using Huawei phones and will be punished if not compliant.
Company that sells faulty hardware and disregards customers
My experience with Huawei has been incredibly disappointing. It became clear early on that they show no real interest in their customers, doing everything possible to discourage any claims. I waited weeks just for a reply, which only came after constant chasing—and even then, their responses were vague, dismissive, and robotic. I raised specific concerns about my Huawei watch’s safety after it shattered into thousands of glass pieces from a small drop onto a table, yet they refused to address this.
When I tried to escalate, the customer service reps were not polite and evasive. After quoting Huawei’s own product description, which claims “rigorous durability testing including a drop test,” they finally acknowledged my issue—only to inform me my case had been sent to their “headquarters” for review. The response from “headquarters”? More empty reassurances that all Huawei wearables undergo “strict screen inspections.” At no point did they address my genuine safety concerns.
What’s worse, after declining an outrageously high repair quote (more than what I paid for the watch!), they still kept my device for over three weeks, even though they were supposed to return it after one week. And while other brands like Samsung can replace glass on their devices, Huawei’s solution was to charge for an entirely new watch—unbelievable for a brand that claims to care about quality.
To sum up, this experience has been a nightmare. I barely got to use the watch before it broke, and their lack of support and poor hardware quality makes it clear why they lag behind reputable brands. If you’re considering a Huawei device, especially as a gift, think twice. This brand’s disregard for its customers speaks volumes.
I spent almost 600 euros on my last Huawei smartwatch. A set of scales were also supposed to be included in the purchase. Then I found out I had to register online for the set of scales and send the required data to Huawei for verification. Proof of purchase, serial number, etc... The required information was sent repeatedly. Huawei responded each time with "Please send correct data." The provided data was correct. Non existent bait I suppose. Now I should give Huawei extra money for a health+ subscription? I will not purchase another smartwatch from Huawei...
Purchased a watch from them. Few minutes later I sent a number of emails requesting cancellation of that order, as I purchased a better spec watch from them.
They never replied.
I received both watches today. Sent over 3 emails to try and get a return for the one I don't want. No answer to any of my emails.
No telephone contact.
Thoroughly disappointed.
Purchased a WATCH GT 4 46mm on the 18th of August 2024. The checkout process was smooth and 2 days later they confirmed that the item had been shipped.
After 8 days without any tracking updates, I contacted Huawei's support in Portugal to find out what was happening.
The advisor had one of the most amateur engagements of all time, promising he would single-handedly solve my problem within 48h. After said timeframe had passed, still no tracking updates with DPD nor any feedback from the agent.
Requested some more updates and was promptly ignored. Had to submit a new ticket to get some feedback and the reply was again, disastrous. The same agent informed me that DPD had operational delays and had no EDD for my order. Couldn't provide a clearer answer than this. I'm unaware if the courier has been approached in any way regarding my package. 12 days have passed and still no tracking updates, no relevant information from support and no watch.
As someone who works in e-commerce, I know very well that they'll either end up delivering the product after 1 month or refunding me due to the package being lost.
Also need to point out that their practice seems to be illegal, going against their own terms and conditions, as no delivery timeframe was provided on checkout or in any order confirmation emails and now I know why.
Edit: After 1 month of the order being placed, still no item or money.
Customer service has no structure and the agents do what they please, ignoring emails and being condescending with their replies.
I had to do a police report and advance with legal actions to get my money back.
Huawei's online store in Portugal is basically an online scam.
I have owned many different fitness trackers, mainly FitBit and Garmin. I have found they seem to become unreliable after about a year. FitBit in particular.
I decided to buy the Huawei Band 8 due to the price and supposed accuracy of the Huawei fitness tracker.
The good points are, the price, it's one of the most accurate trackers and so far has lasted longer than any other tracker I have owned. It is also very accurate and has stayed consistent over the last 12 months.
However, the tracker does have some cons:-
-It does have a cheap feel to it and the screen scratches easily. Honor has a similar tracker that feels more premium (but is inaccurate).
-It is difficult to get replacement straps, the ones you can get seem to get grubby very quickly.
-The Huawei app isn't on Google play but is on the app store.
-I have experienced connection and notification issues on both my previous Samsung phone and current Honor phone. The tracker doesn't always reconnect automatically. Sometimes it doesn't receive notifications despite all the settings being set up for it or there is a delay between my phone getting the notification and my tracker.
Huawei customer services have been helpful in trying to rectify the issue but there are a couple of bugs that let it down. I don't dislike the tracker at all but I may eventually have to revert back to Garmin to try and get the accuracy and notifications. Honor works better with notifications but isn't so good at the fitness tracking.
There is no contact with Customer Service at all. I have been trying to cancel the order 5 days so far and no-one contacted me. In the meantime the order was delivered to ne and i have been receiving all updates and emails. However, I don't want the product and I can't return it.
Customer Service doesn’t existence I presume.
Such bad customer service. Placed an order then nothing for 5 days, no movement whatsoever. You can’t phone, email form does not send you the code to authenticate so you can send. Ended up cancelling. Thank you Huawei
Don't see why there are so many bad reviews. I sent in my Huawei GT3 watch for a repair. Filled the form in, sent the watch via DPD and within a week a new watch has been sent out to me as they couldn't repair the old watch due to water damager.
Would highly recommend Huawei. No issues whatsoever for me.
Contacted Huawei UK customer service via email regarding a warranty claim at 13.21 and received a response at 13.29 advising to return the item and they would supply a paid courier return label.
Unbelievably fast reply and initially I was very impressed with their response but they didn't send me a returns/ warranty repair label within 24 hours as promised.
When I questioned this they kept sending the same automated reply telling me they had already responded to me by email.
Thought it was too good to be true to receive good customer service after all the bad reviews on here.
4 days later and still awaiting courier returns label.
Update: 3 months later and Huawei Customer Service still hasn't sent a returns label. I have changed their star rating to 1 accordingly!
Good overall, but website makes it difficult to get in touch with CS
*EDIT*
I managed to get in contact with Huawei's customer service, the agent Gabe was incredibly helpful, arranged for DPD to pick up my monitor and I received it within 2 weeks in working condition.
I've upped my review to 4 stars at the customer service was very good, however, the website makes it really difficult to get in touch with them, hence the lack of the 5 star.
I really appreciate the help I was given, and it definitely helped restore my faith in Huawei
*ORIGINAL*
I bought the Huawei Mateview around a year ago; coming home one day, I noticed that the monitor stand felt very hot, I also noticed that as soon as the display of the connected device showed up on the monitor, it immediately cut out, everything else worked apart from that.
I now have a monitor I paid over £500 for, that doesn't work and have tried contacting Huawei customer service multiple times to try and deal with this. However, there's no number and to get in touch you have to send an email, but require a verification code, which never comes through to my email. There's an alternative email, you can write to, but I've still not heard back from them and it's been several days now.
I was so excited when I bought my mateview, but after this experience, I'm probably never going to buy from Huawei ever again.
I bought the p50 pocket in November 2022. And 2 days ago the display broke. It never fell down or anything. But huawei sad that they can repair it for 712 Euros (i bought it for 800 euros new)
Im disgusted by the costumer service. My old phone is now 6 years old and no Problems at all.
Very bad expirience.
Awful experience so far. received a notification that the item I wanted (a 3 pack of mesh routers), on the 15th August. I ordered whilst it was available and showing as in stock
I attempted to ask after about 10 days what was happening with the order, and advised I would be contacted, this took about a further 10 days or so for them to even reply saying they're awaiting stock and expected in first half of September so if I'd like a refund to wait
The website says items are generally dispatched in about 3 days. It is now the 21st September and still no sign of it being dispatched
With the p30 pro, I was watching a lot of youtube videos with the phone in vertical position. After 3 4 months, there was a color difference between the region where the youtube application was running and the bottom of the screen. I went to huawei wembley service. The screen was burnt and they replaced the screen under warranty. After 2 3 weeks, my phone is out of charge. Normally I never turn off my phone . I try charge it but it reloop 3 4 times after resetting the phone, it turned on. I didn't pay much attention to it because huawei harmonios was being broadcast at that time, I think maybe it's because of it. After 5 6 months , the same discoloration on the phone reappeared in the same area . I went to the same service again, this time they said that there was oxidation in the charging socket, so the screen burned. I told them that there was the same malfunction before, but that there was no oxidation in the charging socket at that time, they repaired it under warranty, they could not answer. Since I don't know English very well, they talked to me sarcastically when I went for the second time. Since they did not attach the back cover of the phone properly, they broke its resistance against water and dust. 3 months ago, my phone got an update, emUI 12. I updated the software, my phone did not turn on again. I sold all of my huawei p20 pro p40 pro huawei watch scale earphones. I will definitely not buy huawei again. The stores I went to today were empty because of customer dissatisfaction. I'm back on the apple platform. My iphone 6 phone that I bought 7 years ago is still working. My huawei phone that I bought 1.5 years ago is dosent work 😅😅. i bought iphone 12 i bought air pods. I ordered watch 7. The employees at this service are very helpful, but wembley huawei did not fix my phone properly, it caused my phone to be out of warranty. Don't be the enemy of your money!!!
All I said such a poor customer service 1 month with this crap phone no one helping waste my money on this not recommended to anyone buy Huawei, should other brands phone who always happy to help you out not like that I have no words what to say I wish i can speak to owner of this company and tell him to sell sweetcorn rather than this company
After 2 phones, 2 headsets, 3 smartwatches, this is the last item I will buy from Huawei. I bought a Watch 3 Pro bundled with an additional Pebble Gray Strap in offer and I'm really disappointed. The strap is just a single loop piece of nylon and cannot be wear all day long because it's very uncomfortable and not well engineered: one of the 2 ends has to be fold on your wrist. I requested a replacement and I keep receiving calls to convince me that the strap is ok, it's me who is wrong.
Beware Scammers Fraudster
Beware Scammers Fraudster
If you received a faulty Item and you want a Repleacment ( Good luck )
Customer service well tell you to send everything back including the free gifts just for a replacement ( its the company policy she tell you ) after doing more research the return address is a repair address of a third party.
you going to have to keep chasing after Huawei for your replacement or refund again good luck.
customer service is going to call you to tell you that they only received the faulty laptop and that is going to be the only call you going to get from them.
its been 6 weeks now still No Replacement, Refund or any communication. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! SCAMMERS
Dreadful experience - avoid at all costs! If you want one of their products buy it from a third party DO NOT use their website.
Placing the order was simple and they took my money quickly enough, then it went all quiet. When I hadn't received my e-mail with despatch details I contacted then via chat. They were unable to give me anymore information on the status.
I feel for the agents who have to face the public because it's not their fault, they clearly have a very poorly designed or non-integrated process in that they couldn't see what warehouse/despatch were doing but also couldn't transfer me to someone who could answer my questions.
Eventually I phoned and asked for it to be escalated. To be fair they got back to me within a few hours and said there was an 'IT glitch' and I'd have to re-order - I declined and asked to cancel and refund.
I got an e-mail that then said 8 - 10 WORKING days to process the refund for an item that was never despatched, let alone received ..... *
