I am very pleased with my purchase, great set of wheels, well packaged, however I did have an issue with the bearings and had to buy some new ones to replace them as they ran rough after only a few hundred miles… hopefully the new ones will be better.

Order placed with a very specific technical request, the wheels arrived non-compliant. I had to provide technical documents to explain that it was not compliant. When a customer has to explain their profession to a wheel manufacturer, it's worrying. They suggested having the wheels inspected by a bicycle shop, which I did. Now the wheels are warped, I will have to have them taken back...

Overall I had a great experience. I wanted the wheels without decals and customer service was able to accomodate this request without any issues. There was a shipping delay because of this which was communicated to me upfront and I had no problem with this. The wheels arrived and were well packaged. I set them up tubeless and the process was really smooth, especially given this was my first time. The wheels look really cool and sound great while riding. The only negative was that the online portal never updated about the order status and I only received "notification" that the wheels had shipped weeks after they had already arrived. Apart from this, no issues and will be interested to see how the wheels go in the long run.

Great Look and Performance. Exchange took time but Resolved Fairly.
The wheels I have from them ride well and look great. There was something stuck inside of one on arrival that made an awful noise. The cost and time (@60 days or more due to shipping) of exchange is almost as much as a new wheel. Great wheels unless you need to exchange. (10.24.2023)
FOLLOW-UP: As of 06.04.2024 They have refunded me for the purchase of a second rear wheel. While it took time. They resolved the situation. I have been using the wheels for Fondo and Triathlon racing. They look nice and perform VERY well.

After nearly 2 months of riding with the Drive 50D, i'm quite happy with the riding experience as it is incredibly light at 1300g. Although i wished i had went for 50D (Front) & 65D (Rear) for the aesthetic look.
One important thing is that i realized somehow my rear wheel has a couple of very obvious scratches on the rim...not sure how i managed to get them but most likely i wasn't careful. That being said, i had to be aware of how 'easily' they get scratched though and be more careful.

Hi Mark. Thank you for sharing your experience. While our wheels are easier to get up to speed because of the lightness of the rims, they do not maintain it quite as well. This is the case with all lightweight wheels. Deeper section and heavier wheels experience this less so.
I recently bought a set of the new G45 SS gravel wheels. I bought these to possibly replace the existing carbon wheelset I had from another company. Out of the box they come pre-taped with the tubeless valve installed. The tubeless valve includes a valve core removal cap which I thought was a nice touch. I weighed the front wheel at 643g and the rear wheel at 772g. I was hoping these would be under 1400g but it's pretty close and these are 45mm deep and 24mm wide internally.
I initially fitted these up with S-Works Pathfinder 42c tires, I'm quite heavy so I usually run these at 50-55psi. The ride quality is noticeably stiffer which has some pros and cons. The downside is over bumps the ride is much harsher, reducing tire pressure didn't seem to help this very much. The feel was similar to my road bike. Other gravel wheels with the same tires and tire pressure have a much better ride quality. The benefit is that sprinting out of the saddle these feel outstanding and consistent. No spoke noises or hub shifting causing the brake rotor to rub which I sometimes get with weaker wheels.
On smooth pavement even with wide gravel tires I set a personal best that I haven't even touched with my road bikes. They hold speed very well above 20mph and at higher speed 40mph+ they aren't wind sensitive.
Honestly I think these wheels are best suited for the gray area between road and big rock gravel. A second test has confirmed this. I switched these wheels to a 2022 Trek Domane AL with WTB Vulpine 36c tires. They stretch out to 38mm with the 24mm internal width of the G45s. The bike now feels like riding a cloud on pavement and on hardpack or light gravel with no bumps it rolls quite nicely. For a pure road setup a 32C tire would match up perfectly aerodynamically and offer great comfort.
Visually I generally prefer a flat matte black finish but the glossy marble on these has grown on me and it stands out on a group ride.
Finally I believe these wheels miss the mark in being a true gravel wheel and are best suited for road use, which they are quite good at. At 45mm deep the weight is better than most road wheels you find and at this price point it's hard to beat.

This wheelset is definitely designed with racers in mind. It is nice that you are not experiencing brake rub or spoke noises. It is nice that you are happy with their crosswind resistance. Congratulations on setting a personal best.
As far as the tire choice, you are definitely right about them being aerodynamically optimized for a 32c tire, though your WTB Vulpine 36c tires run at lower pressures should offer more comfort. With the trend in road tires going wider, the G45 is certainly a choice many are making.

I am really happy with my new G45 wheels. I thought it all worked. However, there were no extra spokes in the box. I remember it saying there would be when you ordered these wheels.
At the moment I ride a pair of Hunt Gravel wheels. I think these wheels will be my primary wheels. Since these G45 are lighter, I'm going to put 30mm tires on them, and then use them for both my gravel bike and my race bike.
My first hand impression is really good, they seem to roll really well :D
With elite wheels you really get a lot for your money!!

-rims relief drilled with 3/32, one hole in front and two in rear. I trust Stan’s Sealant will seal the holes or I will be installing tubes.

Initially was a wonderful wheel, with the great build quality. However, wear and tear soon happened faster than anticipated, with especially the brake track on the 50v wearing out. Customer service preferred rather to deflect the question and not claim it as a manufacturer defect, but rather user error despite following all of their instructions.
Edit: Patrick from Elitewheels responded. While I'm gracious in his quick response, I have talked with another user who also complained on Elitewheel's Facebook page about his brake track fading. When pressed further, he explained that he had no grip braking in dry conditions due to the fragility of the braking surface, even with the correct pads. This refutes Patrick's claim regarding my problem being a unique and single issue in their wheel manufacturing.
Regarding their hypothesis of me damaging my brake track due to incorrect pad usage, non-clean pads, and dirt and other weather-related issues, I have already provided Elitewheels with pictures of my pads, which were their own OEM carbon pads and clearly did not have any sand or debris embedded with them. I also wash and maintain my bike very frequently, so their accusations fall flat.
While I appreciate the rims offered at a discounted rate, Elitewheels also does not factor in the labour and build process for a new wheel, as these are rims only. That would inflate the already expensive price that I've paid for these wheels even more.
Overall, Elitewheels has done nothing but deflect blame on their users, and it is my regret that I can't recommend this brand no matter the high hopes that I have had regarding their wheels based on established reviewers.

We appreciate you sending us pictures of the rim surface, brake pads, and even your Strava ride information since your first email last week. It was helpful in analyzing the issue. After manufacturing and selling over 100,000 rim brake rims over the past ten years for our own brand and manufacturing for other brands, there has never been a single issue due to early brake pad wear due to a manufacturing defect.
The cause of the issue has been determined to have been caused by external factors unrelated to the production of your rims. Only manufacturing defects are included in the warranty, which is on our official website. In our last few emails, we offered you two discounted rims at our crash replacement policy price. We can also offer additional brake pads compatible with them.
The most likely culprits for your damaged brake track are non-clean pads, meaning sand, pebbles, grit, and even metal bits imbedded in the pads, and incorrect brake pads. On our website, we recommend checking the pads and the braking surface daily. Pads for aluminum wheels and possibly poor quality ones from some brands could cause this damage. We recommend the ones we provide as they have been tested. Early warning signs of this kind of damage are high pitched sounds and wear. Vandalism is a possibility, but it is very rare.
Other causes are very unlikely of brake surface wear include improper braking technique and installation. If these precautions are taken into consideration, the braking surface can last tens of thousands or even over 100,000km depending on riding conditions.
