As a Singapore based startup, Drive lah is a peer-to-peer car sharing platform where you can rent a large variety of cars, always nearby at great value. All trips on Drive lah are insured through our insurance partner - Tokio Marine. The idea is simple: car ownership is expensive in Singapore (per month yet only use the car 5% of the time – cars are mostly parked. With Drive lah you can reduce the cost of ownership by renting it out when you don’t need it in a safe way. Renters can rent those cars when they are not used by their owners at good value. In a fast-growing non-ownership economy where taxi, food, beauty is available on-demand, Drive lah is envisioning to take the lead in distance travel and simplifying car access
Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. People frequently praise the staff and support team for being exceptionally helpful, polite, and genuinely caring during every single interaction. Reviewers highlight that customer service representatives respond very quickly on the live chat to guide users smoothly through any problems. Consumers strongly appreciate how efficient, clear, and reliable the platform is for handling various vehicle rentals and personal requests.
However, some reviewers mentioned specific challenges regarding verification timelines and occasional difficulties with the car listing process. A few users also noted experiencing frustrating wait times during certain customer service sessions before getting answers.
Today Drivelah bill me for scratch rim from host that I does not aware of! It was 2 months later 11th December they email me on these matters. I ask them check my return trip photos (without scratch) taken before handing over to host and yet they formalise that it is my fault! It could be the driver after me on that day or after. They can check on their Drivelah platform pick up and return trip pictures of drivers submitted unless it is cause by the host themselves.
I can say it is a unfair practice from the host and the company.
Driver to be aware of your host and take pictures for your own record.
Now I'm waiting for their reply and rise merchant dispute with my bank on these matters.
We booked a mitsubishi car for our trip to Shah Alam on 20 Dec, pick up time at 9pm. However, the car could not start. The car key was missing. Drivelah team sent a towtruck about an hour later. The guy checked the car and told us we need the key to start it. So it was not settled. We waited again for Drivelah team to find a solution. Almost 1am we got a replacement car. We had to change our plan, instead of driving straight to Shah Alam, we had to stay overnight in JB. We asked for a compensation and drivelah only compensate a $10 credit for the 4 hours delay to drivelah account which until today, 31/12/2024 that small amount of compensation has not been credited yet.
Ralph has responded fast and solve all my issues. Very helpful guy 👍🏻

I am only writing to give good feedback for Carren. The whole experience of renting was horrible, the car can't be unlock using Bluetooth. After waiting for an hour, the towing company said he also can't open the car. A total waste of time. I was just glad Carren was calm and knowledgeable in assisting. Thank you Carren!

Myne was very understanding over my hearing defects n foreign slang etc over phone n we decided to transpire Q n A via email. We got it done well. Thank You Myne
Asked support for help on the claim from owner due to repair when oversea, but never get back to me. Already more than 2 weeks, still no reply at all. What I can said is, if use in SG should be OK, but if use in Malaysia, better think twice.
Tried to hire a van for the weekend, they charged my card for the full amount of $234 plus a deposit of $50. Two hours later my verification was declined even though I followed the steps and uploaded my license and I have a clear driving history. The $234 was refunded but the $50 deposit will take up to 7 days to be refunded. Save yourself the headache and avoid this platform. I feel like they’re just dancing around the edges of the law.
A Host's Nightmare: Unresolved Payments and Poor ServiceI’ve been a host on DriveLah
I’ve been a host on DriveLah, and while the initial experience was smooth, my decision to enroll in their Rental Management Service (RMS) from 25 June 2024 to 12 August 2024 has been deeply regrettable. The service, where DriveLah manages the car on your behalf for a commission, turned into an endless ordeal.
Out of 24 trips during this period, I’ve only been paid for 19 trips. For even this partial payment, I had to follow up repeatedly, wasting significant time and effort. When I highlighted the missing payments, I was redirected from one person to another for an extended period, with no one taking ownership of the issue.
The team initially denied the existence of the remaining trips and demanded proof. Thankfully, I had screenshots of the RMS(Rental Management Service) listings and mileage-based cost calculations to substantiate my claim. When faced with undeniable evidence, their explanation shifted to a “software error”—a convenient excuse that fails to justify their lack of professionalism.
Despite ongoing discussions, they assigned a new RMS manager to handle my case, but as of December 2025, no resolution has been provided. To escalate the matter, I requested a video call with the RMS manager(Vignesh), Lai (the customer service manager), and myself to address and resolve the issue. This request has been outright ignored. Lai remains consistently unavailable, and promised callbacks never happen. Vignesh kept giving lame excuses and justifications
To this day, I am owed approximately SGD 700. DriveLah’s unprofessional handling of payments, failure to communicate effectively, and lack of accountability have caused immense frustration. Their approach feels less like a mistake and more like deliberate negligence.
If you’re considering trusting DriveLah with your vehicle, think twice. My experience highlights significant issues with their payment process, lack of accountability, and poor customer support. Proceed with caution.

While we understand that you may have a different perspective on how you prefer to receive the report, be aware that all relevant data had been provided to you, along with a clear explanation that trips differ from trip days. Your repeated and unnecessary requests for a callback were addressed by Vignesh, who supported his response with the factual trip numbers verified by our Data team. It has been clarified multiple times that you are counting trip days, while trips consist of both hourly and daily components. Take note that our platform does not charge per kilometer like other platforms. You may continue to reference your screenshot, but the automated data will provide an accurate account. The error you mentioned regarding the year in the data was indeed a glitch, as we are currently in 2024, not the 1990s. Furthermore, this does not imply that the number of trips was unjustified. Should you require further clarification, we are happy to provide the same data verified by our Data team.
I am amazed this company has such good reviews it actually makes me now trust trustpilot way less. I have called drive mate 18 times over the last 8 weeks and everytime they said they would call me back but never do.
I am still waiting for a lockbox from them. I am currently renting a van with keys in the van that people can collect so have to risk someone stealing my car before every rental.
Guest damage my lcd panel and supports and their management came up on the decision on not paying me.
By stating this
1. Policy Limitations: Under our Drive lah policy (SECTION 1 - INSURANCE ON YOUR CAR under Comprehensive Cover), coverage applies only to damages resulting from specific incidents such as fire, collision, natural disasters, or malicious acts. Unfortunately, the scratch reported on the LCD screen does not fall within the criteria for covered damages.
This isn’t even linked, not that my lcd is damaged by guest, why send me reason on natural disasters?
However, as a thank-you for your patience during this process, we'd like to offer a $100 gesture of appreciation.
Who needs that $100? I want my lcd fixed!!!
Host, think twice on hosting your vehicle with drivelah,
I placed my trust with them but I totally lost it when it comes to guest damaging your vehicle. And support don’t act fast and gives a lot of excuses to try and not pay you.
Horrible experience with customer service. Basic billing issues are not handled properly and they even overcharged payment for flex plus customers. They take money holding you hostage and leave you to deal with poor customer service personnel who have no power to help nor make a difference. Empty promises are constantly made and their 24/7 WhatsApp service is unreliable. What started out as a fairly good experience ended with a bitter aftertaste. I advice customers considering this service to think twice if you are looking to engage their flex plus plans. Not worth the hassle at all.
5 star for customer support
2 star for website experience
Booked a vehicle but host say vehicle was unavailable. Could not cancel the trip through the app, couldn't figure out how to cancel through the browser too. After that just couldn't retrieve my account details through the browser. After many trial and errors, finally managed to get it done. Took me about an hour...I dont know what to say anymore.

I definitely dont have the car nor my personal belongings returned. Atleast on public forum you can be accurate. This reinforces what I mentioned earlier. The only thing I am told is that we are trying to sort it out and only when I chase people up to return my stuff back. This is absolutely pathetic.
Really bad experience. Car is not serviced, breaks down and horrible post sales experience. They dont care after they sell the package. I cant wait to get out and definitely go with Carro or others. I would not recommend drivelah if you care about yourself or your family.

Hi Rajeev, thank you for sharing your feedback. We reviewed your claims and we would like to point out that after the car broke down a replacement car was provided since your booking is a long term one. We have also gathered the maintenance history of the car and it was serviced recently. We understand that car breakdown is not a pleasant experience and we are here to support you.
Had rented from them for the past three times this year, however, two of these renting experiences have been uneventful. In short, you are likely dependent to settle between the host and yourself, and DriveLah doesn't want to be willing to even go the extra mile to help, unlike the rest of the reviews here.
Rental 1: Feb 2024 (5D4N rental)
Rented from a host (running a rental company as well). Took this car to KL for 5D4N but met an accident, by no fault of mine and had to follow Malaysia accident protocol. Liaised with a DriveLah agent and shared with me the Singapore accident protocol. I had to deviate from my original plan (Polis Station was 20km away, and I had to reroute 80km away from my original itinerary). I had to continue liaising with the host thereafter because DriveLah mentioned that the vehicle belonged to a rental company, so I had to do all the insurance liaison with him, and I had to follow instructions from him - the host asked me to drive back the night itself and cut short my holiday.
DriveLah did not intervene, the host then asked me to do the repairs in KL because DriveLah did not respond to his calls, messages and emails in time (only one agent was in the resolutions team) and threatened to bill me if I haven’t done the repair. I had already bought the maximum protection scheme from DriveLah and still, after explaining to the host, he insisted that repairs be done there. Furthermore, I was charged extra mileage due to the detour incurred to do a police report over the cost of two days at Sepang (where I had to make an accident report) and KL Police Station which I requested DriveLah to overlook and do a heavy discount on it, to which they mentioned that accidents incurred and the need to travel to do the accident report, is also part of the mileage consumption.
Long story short: After I’ve reached Singapore, did the GIA lodgement, and send the car back to the host, only then did the resolutions team convey the message to the host that DriveLah will be making arrangements on the repairs with him. Oh and one of DriveLah’s agents needed me to make another trip down to KL to retrieve the formal accident report by Malaysia’s Traffic Police, till date she has not requested it, after wasting 3 days of my effort flying down to KL, meeting up with the Malaysian police and all…
Rental 2: Jul 2024 (24 hours rental)
Rented a vehicle with a different description (French vehicle, starting with an “R”, looking very sporty), and had the vehicle description:
1.8L Turbo, 7-Speed Automatic
276 bhp & 390 Nm
When actually the actual car’s specs were:
1.6L Turbo, 7-Speed Automatic
202 bhp & 280 Nm
How did I know it? The car felt underpowered for what it’s worth, and eventually I requested the agent to send me the host’s logcard. Though it was a clear misrepresentation of the host’s description, DriveLah sought to protect the host, stating that the model is “carefully relevant” and she is still investigating. The only thing that I saw after that response “I’m checking with our team, how we can compensate you for this”
So it seems that DriveLah willingly protects hosts and if they could put users at bay just to generate platform fees to make their platform lean and cost effective (as they should), they’d just throw their users under the bus.
