they create subscriptions and send emails to spam that you dont know of. I got the charge and day of wrote to them to cancel and called their bluff. They refused to reimburse etc. This is a scam beware...
Scam
I once took their free subscription and added my debit card details there. I cancelled my subscription but still the amount is getting deducted every month without my consent from my account and there is no way to remove the car details as well on their website. It’s a scam.
PayPal saved me
I got a very lucrative offer on fotor, it's 30% off..it's like just 799 Indian rupees for a year, it's not much so I plunged for the payment. I got two payment options, credit cad and PayPal. I used my PayPal and after I logged in, PayPal showed 2300 Indian rupees for an years, what the heck! showing my $9 on the website and actually charging me $31. I am lucky not using my Credit card for fotor and chose PayPal.

Paid for nothing, not getting a refund. Company is a scam! I had been trying to get some AI generated photos for LinkedIn headshots, the photos look so bad! When I tried again, same thing, more awful expensive photos. I emailed them saying this program isn’t working for me and they said sorry not sorry, we’re keeping your money

I started using the Fotor AI free version to edit my jewelry images. When I ran out of editing credits I was unable to edit my images. So, I decided to purchase a subscription (49.72 CAD) for the year. I purchase the subscription on May 16, 2025. I thought once I paid for a subscription I would not have to keep purchasing credits when I ran out, but noooo. I ran out of editing credits and was not able to edit my images unless I bought more credits separately from the subscription I've already purchased. As that was not gonna work for me, and I found it absolutely ridiculous, I cancelled the subscription on May 20th, 2025 and requested a refund form Fotor. Upon requesting a refund I got this message from Fotor. "As your purchase was made through Google Play, we kindly want to let you know that all payments and refunds are managed directly by Google Play. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to access or process Google Play transactions from our end". So, I requested a refund from Google Play. Google sent me an email with the purchase transaction number and informed me that I should contact the developer of Fotor. So I did, and again this is the message I got from Fotor. "We understand your concern and we truly want to help. However, since the payment was made through Google Play, which is a third-party platform, we do not have the ability to access or manage their payment system." I just wish I had done my research and found these other reviews before purchasing a subscription from Fotor. They are a bunch of scammers and thieves. I will be filing a dispute with my bank to try and retrieve my money from them.
AVOID! Worst scam on the internet
Worst scam I have encountered on the internet. They advertise a free service and then charge you when you upload your card details. They also refuse to refund your money afterwards. God only knows how many people they have scammed.

Tried the app after being lured for the 7 days free trial. I remember for sure that the charge would be after the 7th day. Before I was able to cancel the subscription, I was charged for a year worth of subscription A$53.99 a day earlier. Contacted the chat only to be answered by AI. Emailed the support, only answered the next day blatantly said that I have missed the trial period and there's no refund from the annual charge. Given link to the Terms & Conditions but it was not readily available on the individual account nor there was no copy of agreement sent to email or confirmation when joining the trial. There's no kindness in the tone. When I checked the review, I realized to have been scammed by this dodgy company. Since the company based in Chengdu, China (CEO - Tony Duan), I found it hard to resolve this issue as there's no legitimate transparency to discuss with actual person to resolve the issue. Anyone on the same boat, please report this company to the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN). Please also consider reporting this issue to the national Fair Trading and Consumer Commission.
Disappointing Customer Service – No Flexibility or Understanding
I signed up for a trial and forgot to cancel before it ended, something that’s happened to me a few times over the years with other services. In every other case, companies were more than happy to issue a refund when I explained the situation, especially since I hadn’t used the service after the first day. Fotor, however, was the first company I’ve dealt with that flat-out refused. Despite canceling immediately after realizing the charge, they pointed me to their policy and offered no flexibility or goodwill. The response felt cold and dismissive, and I walked away with the clear sense that customer satisfaction is not a priority here. If you’re considering signing up, be aware that they strictly enforce their policy with no room for genuine mistakes, even when the service goes unused. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend Fotor based on this experience.

I cancelled my free subscription the same day it started. The program didn´t work for me and I didn´t want to be charged. Seven days later I was charged despite cancelling the service the same day as starting. When I complained about the billing, I was dismissed by a bot saying no refunds after the trial period ends. Then it made me confirm cancellation 4 times before cancelling.

I got a trail through Google pay but the subscription wasnt visible, I later got charged £34.99, they know they're running a scam, its daylight robbery, theyre very quick to send you an email because theyre working with loopholes.

If you are seeking an AI video enhancer, then Fotor is a rip-off. I carefully checked various products and found Fotor easy to use and pretty good at enhancing video. On that basis, I took out an annual subscription for Fotor Pro+ A$119.99 and commenced enhancing a collection of old travel videos. I immediately encountered a problem when after uploading one short enhanced video, I could not upload any further videos. It was then that I discovered that the Pro+ subscription provides only 300 credits per month and I didn't have enough left to do any more. In other words, a A$120 subscription would allow me to enhance about 12 very short videos in a year. I have cancelled my subscription but have little hope of a refund.
