I tried their 7day free trial, I tested 1 old wedding photo. A faded print from the 1970's. The results were worse than the original. I immediately tried to cancel the free trial. I used their webpage and clicked "cancel" ..... nothing, I've tied their chat line, it can't answer subscription question. I've tried to ask a question, it won't let me ask unless I have transaction number, which hasn't been provided. I can't find an email address. Absolute grade A scam, avoid at all costs!

The worst and most fraudulent website. They make it impossible to cancel your subscription during your free trial period. You have to first pay and then argue for a refund that is not automatic. I tried to cancel 5 minutes after I signed up after realizing the function that I was trying to use did not work. They scam you by saying that the subscription does not start during the free trial period. When you try to cancel during the free trial period, there is no subscription. They already have your credit card information. After the free period ends, your credit card is immediately charged. You are no longer in the free trial period. Not only is this a scam, but the app is worthless.08

So I went to cancel the free trial, but there is no cancel button anywhere. There is only a button telling me to immediately skip to the paid version, and warns me I'll be billed immediately. So I'm stuck and I'm doomed. This is a scam and as far as I know, I can't reverse it, because I didn't realize they state this stuff in the fine print before you sign up for the free trial, so PayPal won't help since technically this is "legal". So I'm going to be FORCED to pay $89.99 for horrible broken features I will never use. Horrible, scammy website.
Charged for 1 yr subscription incorrectly, even though I asked for refund, did not refund me
I thought I was taking out a 1 month subscription with Fotor just so I could see how good it was at restoring an old photo. The monthly rates appeared in a large font and seemed quite reasonable. It was only an hour later I found the website had charged a whole year to my credit card. Yes, I did find then that the website stated in small faint writing that the fee was charged a year in advance. Anyway, the website produced mediocre results with my old photo, and now it will not allow me to terminate the subscription.
Absolutely despicable. Had to enter credit card for free trial. None of the features worked as I expected so went to cancel my trial the same day before I was charged. Pop up screen made me accidentally instant upgrade to the pro version instead. I immediately cancelled and tried to get a refund. The software from FOTAR was exactly what I was looking for. I was ready to purchase the software rights for $39.99 about 2 weeks ago. HOWEVER, my bank flagged this as a possible fraud. No one should be using this company. I forgot that I had a yearly subscription with them and noticed a charge in my credit card. The same day as the charge, I cancelled and sent a refund request to them and they denied it. They only send out reminders when you have already canceled an active subscription in order to get you to repurchase, but do not send out notices when you are already signed up to let you know it is going to be renewed and that you will be charged. On July 7, 2025, I purchased the "avatar rich package 20" for 9.99 EUR through their in-app service. The payment went through, my money was taken, but the promised AI headshots? They never appeared in my Fotor app. My project section remains completely empty, as if I never bought anything. I immediately tried to get a refund through Apple, explaining that the service was never delivered. Apple rejected my refund request not once, but twice. Then I contacted Fotor directly, providing them with my correct iCloud email, and the Apple invoice proving my purchase. Their response? They claimed the headshots had been generated and told me to check "My AI Creations." I did, and guess what? Still empty. They then suggested a "system error" and told me they "reset my task" and to check another link for pending tasks. Again, nothing. After all this back and forth, Fotor's final solution is to tell me to go back to Apple for a refund, the same Apple who has already denied me twice! This is an utterly unacceptable situation. I paid for a product I never received. Fotor is pushing me back to Apple, and Apple won't refund. I'm stuck in an endless, infuriating loop, out of pocket, with nothing to show for it but wasted time and extreme frustration. This is not how a legitimate service operates. It's a complete failure to deliver on a paid service and a refusal to take accountability for it. Do yourself a favor and avoid Fotor at all costs unless you want to risk losing your money for absolutely nothing. I am beyond disappointed, I feel completely ripped off.
AVOID AVOID AVOID. I trialed this on a free 7 day trial, it was rubbish so I cancelled the trail. Or so I thought. Turns out a year later they took £28.99 from my Paypal account. I raised this with Paypal and went through their dispute process. I also found out that they had taken a sum the year before, which I must have missed unfortunately. Having waited and gone through a lengthy resolution process with Paypal and providing a link to ALL these reviews Paypal sided with the seller. This is very annoying as more people are going to get scammed. I am now appealing Paypals decision because no-one should be able to charge for a second year without some form of warning. It's bad enough being scammed of the first years money without realising.

Beware, smells scammy. Had tools years ago who did this for free! The subscription isn’t worth and quite hard to unsubscribe. No information about the monthly charge like a invoice or something else!
