I orderd a part for the Smallrig AD01 tripod, a part of the leg retention system just failed after 2.5 years... So they sent it from China, didn't set up proper import, I had to get a special important authorization and registration, that I never had to before, and I've orderd hundreds of items from China and other non eu countries, and it never went this bad. The part was 2 euros, dhl made me pay 60 euros, because Smallrig didn't send the package properly. When contacted, Smallrig said this is something I'll just have to solve, bye. Lower smallrig as a brand, but this is unacceptable. Also, not having replacement parts available in Europe, or for some parts at all, is basically a scam into making you buy a new product, when you'd just like to fix the old. This whole process took 2 months.

it is difficult to reach a timely response from customer service. It required me to jump through many barriers, including attaching videos. There were always going to be larger than the limit. I had a simple mismatched, tea mount adapter, and I took days and days for them to review and respond incorrectly. I like most of their products and disappointed that there is a lack of customer service when we buy these tools, we are trying to take them into the field. It is not acceptable to have such a lag in response. I hope they invest more into customer service. Their products are good, but their service needs improvement.

Product Feedback & Design Suggestion – FH5-5565 Monopod To the Product Development Team, I would like to offer some feedback regarding the FH5-5565 monopod based on my experience as a professional photographer. First, I experienced extremely slow delivery times when ordering my second FH5-5565 monopod. My first unit was purchased through Amazon, but obtaining the second one took considerably longer than expected. I also noticed that replacement accessories and parts—such as the D-Tap battery mount screw—are not readily available for purchase or fast delivery. For professionals who rely on your products for paid assignments, having essential replacement parts easily accessible is just as important as the quality of the equipment itself. My primary recommendation, however, concerns the camera mounting plate. For a monopod in the $319.00 price range, I believe an additional safety feature should be incorporated into the quick-release plate to help prevent a mounted camera body or cage from rotating during use. Despite tightening the mounting screw as securely as possible, my camera body has rotated and loosened on several occasions. This creates unnecessary risk for expensive camera equipment. One possible solution would be to add a secondary locating pin or locking screw adjacent to the primary mounting screw. This pin could engage the anti-rotation hole found on many camera bodies and accessories, such as SmallRig cages. A simple configuration could resemble: Option 1 I-•- Option 2 -•-I Where: * I = Primary floating mounting screw * • = Secondary locating/locking pin or screw Ideally, the locating pin could also float left and right to accommodate different camera bodies and cage designs. Another possible solution would be a dual anti-rotation locking mechanism positioned on both sides of the plate. These locking tabs or pins could raise into position during installation and tighten flush against the camera or cage, effectively preventing any rotational movement while maintaining a secure fit. Either design would significantly improve equipment security and provide additional confidence for photographers and videographers using heavier camera and lens combinations. Overall, I appreciate the quality and design of the FH5-5565. I believe these improvements would make an already capable monopod even more dependable for working professionals. Compare to all the other tripods/monopods, the Smallrig i enjoy using the most. I will give almost a perfect 10, when it becomes the new version able to handle the following: To extend, while holding the grip, it slide down with too ease and going with a free fall rather than smooth. Gravity will drop down, so don't know if that is a good thing, On the other hand, to lift, as on Youtube videos, must have foot stepping on one of the leg to pull up. If the new version can handle the drop down with a bit more smooth and able to lift up with a bit more less effort, would get the perfect 10. It was delivered fast within a week, Product quality, can see is very well built.

Items are high quality, however you cant tell when you are making your purchase which items will be imported and which ones will ship locally. so you might have to pay import fees, only finding out after the purchase.

they sent me a faulty handheld shock absorbing arm ! They refused to send me a return address after a day from a delivery... they keep sending responses that are not related to my return inquiry. They also provided illegal invoice - that is against the EU law. Despite that their warehouse is located in Poland (not Hong Kong) they sent me an invoice without VAT and without their own active VAT number !
