What reviewers say
AI generatedReviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the remarkably fast download speeds and the consistently high quality of the saved media files. People also mention that the software application is exceptionally user-friendly and convenient for daily tasks and educational needs. However, some people mentioned that downloading videos from certain platforms can occasionally fail or unexpectedly stop working. A few reviewers were dissatisfied with the restrictive daily download limits and the relatively slow conversion speeds experienced during use. Users also noted that extra steps like copying and pasting URLs manually can make the interface feel a bit clunky.

I purchased 4K Download with a lifetime…
I purchased 4K Download with a lifetime license on March 29, 2020, because I expected to be able to use the software permanently. Now the company has introduced new upgrades, and despite already paying for a lifetime license, they want me to pay again. In my opinion, this is misleading. When I buy a lifetime license, I expect that I won't have to pay again a few years later just to keep using the latest version. This should have been communicated much more clearly from the beginning. It's a shame because I was actually happy with the software itself. However, due to this licensing policy, I can't recommend it.

Thank you for your feedback—we understand why this feels disappointing. In the software industry, a lifetime license usually refers to the lifetime of the specific product, not all future products. This is clarified in our Terms of Use: https://www.4kdownload.com/agreement/terms-of-use/8. The original 4K Video Downloader was built over 11 years ago, and its technology stack became outdated, creating significant technical limitations. At the same time, YouTube and other supported platforms regularly change their algorithms and encryption, which requires constant updates to keep downloads working. There are detailed articles about difference between 4K Video Downloader and 4K Video Downloader+: https://www.4kdownload.com/blog/2023/08/03/4k-video-downloader-vs-4k-video-downloader-plus/ https://www.4kdownload.com/blog/2024/12/13/why-switch-to-4k-video-downloader/ It’s also worth mentioning that you can upgrade your license key at a significant discount. To gain it you need to enter your existing license key on the upgrade page to get the discount: https://www.4kdownload.com/license/upgrade/1?source=videodownloader
