What reviewers say
AI generated
Reviewers overwhelmingly had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently praise the remarkably fast download speeds and the consistently high quality of the saved media files. People also mention that the software application is exceptionally user-friendly and convenient for daily tasks and educational needs.
However, some people mentioned that downloading videos from certain platforms can occasionally fail or unexpectedly stop working. A few reviewers were dissatisfied with the restrictive daily download limits and the relatively slow conversion speeds experienced during use. Users also noted that extra steps like copying and pasting URLs manually can make the interface feel a bit clunky.

Only lets you download in 360p. Not worth it at all, I'd rather just do a screengrab and get better quality.
I sent an email as requested with the link along with the other information. I'll update when I hear back.

Thank you for your feedback. That shouldn’t happen—higher quality should be available when the source provides it. Please contact our support team so we can help: https://www.4kdownload.com/contacts. Include your app version, operating system, and an example link, and we’ll investigate and get it working properly.
Using the application for years now, I like to keep videos I like locally and not stream all the time, even though "they" are pushing this. At times it will not download and most of the times it is time to update the app. I'm on linux and the app does not update itself. If I choose "update" it says I am up to date, but when I download it I can see the version number changed.. No big deal, still worth every penny I spent on it!

everything was easy and affordable. I started out using the free version which was great. I finally bought the lifetime sub. and I don't regret it! downloading was easy, using it is super easy. quality is the best.

Of all the downloaders I own
Of all the downloaders I own, this is by far the best one. They constantly update the app. I've owned this app for 2 years and they still continue to update. I just had another update and so I thought I would give the app a rating and let everyone know that this app is very stable and consistent for use. Thanks 4K download for a wise investment. I didn't think it would last long but it has and I'm grateful for the minor investment that's paid off.

No auto refresh, just manual
Used to be great, but then I paid for a subscription. With the latest update, it does not automatically check for new videos every hour like I wanted, and I am now up to 24 hours without it checking. Sometimes when I start it up, it says each video is in some sort of queue. Sure I can manually refresh EACH one at a time, but that is not what I wanted. Unsure if removing and using an older version will erase my favorites and folder. Also, on the help page it has a link to 'contact us' but it is not linked. Now I know why

Thank you for your feedback—we understand the confusion. In v26.2+ subscriptions don’t auto-update on app launch anymore. They now update on the interval you set.
You can update subscriptions manually, or set the update interval to the minimum (1 hour) in Preferences > Advanced.
If it still doesn’t update as expected, please contact support and we’ll help: https://www.4kdownload.com/contacts.

Dont fall in trap, if paid will be asked again to pay
I had subscribed for 4K downloader lifetime free but now that disappeared and they came out with new 4k downloader plus and I have to subscribe again for this product. Really fraud people , after few years they will do same and our money will be wasted.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns. We understand your disappointment and want to emphasize that our intention is never to cause dissatisfaction or confusion for our users. In software, a lifetime license applies to the lifetime of the product, not indefinitely across new products.
The original 4K Video Downloader is an older app with major technical limitations, so we released 4K Video Downloader+ as a separate, modern product. This is also explained in our Terms: https://www.4kdownload.com/agreement/terms-of-use/8.
Please note that the original 4K Video Downloader was officially discontinued on February 1, 2025 and no longer receives updates. However, you can try our updated app, 4K Video Downloader+, free of charge with exclusive trial access: https://www.4kdownload.com/trial/videodownloader
If you previously purchased a paid license, you may also be eligible for an upgrade discount: https://www.4kdownload.com/license/upgrade.
If anything is unclear or you’d like us to check your specific license and options, please contact our support team here: https://www.4kdownload.com/contacts.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! Glad the app has stayed fast and dependable for you. If you send us the drone tutorial site, we can consider it for future support.
I gave a one-star rating in hopes to get an answer. Why is it that when AI takes away the voices in a music peice the music gets lower and higher and lower again where the voices once were. This is not good if I need the music for a backup piece I am doing.

Thank you for your feedback. For questions like this, please contact our support team directly so we can help you properly: https://www.4kdownload.com/contacts.
If you send us a short example file (or a link), your app version, and your settings, we’ll review it and suggest the best way to improve the result for your backup track.
Thanks for the feedback. The app should download actual audio files, not just links—so if you’re only seeing a YouTube link, something isn’t working as intended.
Please reach out to our support team here: https://www.4kdownload.com/contacts and we’ll help you with all activation and download issues. To resolve this as quickly as possible, please include your app version, operating system and a screenshot of the issue.
We’ll guide you step-by-step and make sure everything is set up correctly and working on your device.
Great stuff! I've been using it for years! It's easy and does what it's supposed to do, i love it
