My Experience with BruntWork
I don’t typically leave negative reviews, but I believe other business owners should be aware of my experience so they can make informed decisions.
I engaged BruntWork expecting structured, reliable bookkeeping support that would allow me to focus on growing my business. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
The first team member, Emmanuel, completed approximately 10 transactions over a span of about 2½ to 3 weeks, which was far below what was needed for meaningful progress. The second team member, Kanchan, did not complete any work during her first two weeks.
During that time, I was also informed of various reasons for delays, including internet issues, weather disruptions, illness (on multiple occasions), and technical difficulties. In addition, there were meetings where scope and workflow were discussed, yet the actual output did not reflect those discussions. From my perspective, even after alignment meetings, the workload and progress remained minimal and inconsistent.
Rather than receiving support, I found myself spending a significant amount of time managing the process—re-explaining tasks, redirecting work, following up repeatedly, and reviewing incomplete outputs. Instead of improving efficiency, the engagement required constant oversight and actually slowed down my operations.
At a certain point, I also noticed that productivity appeared to fluctuate without clear explanation, which further increased the need for monitoring and clarification on my end.
A key concern throughout the engagement was the lack of accountability and consistent output. As a business owner, I rely on measurable progress and clear communication. Instead, I experienced delays, shifting explanations, and limited tangible work delivered relative to expectations.
I maintain detailed records, including audit reports, communication logs, and work tracking documentation for transparency and verification purposes. My review is based strictly on those records and my direct experience.
If anyone has questions regarding the transparency or accuracy of this review, I am willing to share supporting documentation where appropriate.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service for business owners who need reliable execution, consistent productivity, and hands-off support. In my case, outsourcing did not reduce workload—it increased it, due to the level of supervision and follow-up required.
