recent attempts to refinance 2020 Kia Optima

My partner Lynne Maher, who I was assisting to refinance a vehicle through Caribou had nothing but difficulties. The senior loan officer was emailed & phoned numerous times...with very slow/no response. There was an email from customer service who concerns were voiced to over: terms of loan offer, joining credit union & reqirements, wanting a shorter term loan, ect. Those issues went unaddressed. Was told concerns would be forwarded to senior loan officer & never heard anything more. The offer(s) expired & showed up as the application needing to be restarted. When calling Caribou & asking to be transfered to her asked to go through verification twice...which shouldn't be. Once should be enough & transfered directly to loan officer. Also, after first application was told by senior loan officer, where to send documents. Right after was contacted by assistant who could barely understand. She said to send documents somewhere else. Had to have her repeat herself numerous times. After a couple contacts refused to interact with assistant. It's been an extremely stressful, unpleasant & bad interaction/experience with Caribou...who we really wanted to work with. The interest rate offered was much, much lower than the current rate. The experience did start off well. But, it went downhill fast..with pressure to leghthen the loan term from what was origionally wanted.

Very easy to refinance!

Very easy to refinance my vehicle and save thousands over the course of the loan. Helpful associate, made it a seamless experience. I received an advertisement in the mail and had a loan completed within an hour. Everything was digital, lender fee was much more reasonable than other offers. Would (and have already) recommend for anyone that needs a better interest rate. Also, I thought I wasn’t going to have an option because of the miles on my vehicle, but they were able to find me a lender that would work with me. Very pleased!

Another unscrupulous online company…

Another unscrupulous online company screwing the American Public. They ran a hard inquiry and presented as though I just needed to make a final call to go over paperwork. Called the same day I got that email and it went straight to India. I could not understand anything being said because of the thick accent. Was transferred to another person I couldn’t understand and acted like he had no idea why I was even calling, then transferred to a woman who seemed very out out, didn’t have any information other than I hadn’t been assigned to anyone and that she would do that for me. Three days later and I have no returned call, no email and a new hard inquiry on my account. People are sick of this. The canned responses from Caribou say it all. They don’t give a damn and as long as Trustpilot and BBB make money from these businesses they will continue giving them an A rating regardless of any disturbing pattern being described in detail in the comments. Customer service is dead and the name of the game is now how dishonest and greedy can we be without being held accountable.

It went well just a bit time consuming andI got frustrated with my name change also had to resign everything, but overall they save me almost 150 a month on my car definitely recommend

Easy process

I got a few different emails and text messages that were repetitive and some of my information had to be sent more than once. Over all I found the directions easy to follow. Caribou provided a notary for me to video call for the necessary documentation. It was very quick process once you got started. From the first phone call to having my original loan paid off was about a week. If not less. They were able to get me approved through a credit union that I had to join, but that process was also easy as most of the information was pre-provided by the Caribou team. I just had to sign on the dotted line so to speak. I was initially hesitant but decided to give it a go based on others testaments I was reading online. My new payment is literally half of my old one so I'm really glad I gave it a chance
