I’m utterly unimpressed by the mask
I’m utterly unimpressed by the mask. It is so uncomfortable that I haven’t worn it more than a few minutes in my home. The mask is too small and it presses into my face. The bands pull my hair. I hate it.
The ONLY reusable FDA registered N95 with no valves or vents

Edit: I am NOT looking for a discount. I was looking for a mask that would keep me safe on an airplane. I do not feel like the airflow into this mask is safe. The bottom strap that would go around your neck is so loose it does nothing. The biggest problem is that air comes in from around the filter so it is basically ineffective. I took off the clip and covered the hole with the filter and it filtered so well that I could barely breathe. So the mask basically does nothing. i’ve tried cutting out a new larger filter but the little spikes in the filter holder push it up and air can get around the filter, no matter the size. This mask will not keep you safe from Covid in anyway at all.
Thankfully at home tests done by those looking for discounts are not the standard for ISO and FDA compliance which we have met.
Generally a great fit although it leaks a little when I exhale.
Thank you Leslie!!
It was not as expected. Way too clunky and in order to assure a seal around face, the strap pressure needs to be high. It is totally unwearable after 5 minutes. Needs a soft cloth buffer around the frame that touches the face.
I’m a tattoo artist, and I have to be very close to people for a long time while tattooing them. I spent weeks searching for a mask that made me feel safe at work. Especially with my husband and parents being high risk. I recently had a client who developed symptoms and tested positive TWO DAYS after I tattooed her. Meaning she was likely contagious during her tattoo. I was less than an arm’s length from her for 2 hours. I immediately began self-quarantine. All of my COVID tests have come back negative. I completely credit this mask and my tattoo shop’s safety standards with keeping me and my family safe. If I had been wearing a cloth or disposable mask, I would have felt MUCH more vulnerable, being so close to a contagious person for so long. I had peace of mind that even if I was exposed, at least I was wearing a mask I could trust. The mask creates a seal around your nose and mouth, so no air/droplets can get in or out. It’s molded to have an air pocket around your mouth, which makes the mask easier to breathe in. The filters are heavy duty, and easy to change. The straps are adjustable and it comes in different sizes so you can get the most comfortable and secure fit possible. Because of the seal, it also doesn’t fog up your glasses/face shield, or dry out your contacts. It’s silicone, so it can be sanitized (I wash the silicone portion with antibacterial soap and allow it to air dry between every appointment) and can even go in the dishwasher! Their customer service is great, and you can tell they really care about making a difference. I now own a couple of these masks, one for work and one for home. I get a lot of compliments on my rainbow mask, and I encourage everyone who asks me about it to look into getting one! It’s been truly life-changing in this weird and scary time.
The ad in the NY Times said it was an N95 mask. When I got it, it had PM 2.5 filter. That's not N95. That's an allergy filter. SCAM
The filter is a 4ply filter that scored over 98% on the NaCL test (NIOSH requires 95pct). FYI- A filter can not be N95, only a mask can be. Filters are judged by the tests they go through and ours have performed at the highest level.
The product that I received first of all does not fit most adults that we tried one on. The filter has pin head sized holes.., they won’t stop anything inhaled and the exhale goes straight out at others! Did I forget to say No-Refunds.!!!
It’s SO important you pay attention before ordering. PPE can NOT be returned right? That’s industry standard and we state it 4 times including the first line of your order confirmation allowing you yet again another chance to change your mind. “Holes?” NO- That is medical ultrasonic welding to stitch the 4ply filter together. Again, industry standard and completely safe. As for fit, we would say watch the How To Videos but you didn’t pay attention to anything else on the site about our no return policy or what the welding lines are so guessing your mask is upside down.
The Pro is that it doesn't touch my lips. The Con is that it's really hard to be heard when speaking. Nevertheless, I'd buy it again.
I feel the product is overpriced. Medium/large fit was not comfortable. Charging an extra $14.00 for ear loop straps on top of everything else was annoying. Conceptually a good product but just didn't tick all the boxes for me.
Fits like it was made for a baby. BTW I’m not a giant
very unique + high tech and very useful, safe and fashionable. it is for every day use.
Thank you for your accurate review Reser!
I'm an IT technician who works at COVID testing sites along with hospitals and urgent care clinics. Suffice to say, I'm constantly exposed to suspected or positive patients and need excellent PPE. As such, I usually wear an N95 for hours on end, which ends up crushing my nose, since getting one that actually fits perfectly is nearly impossible these days. The Castle Grade mask is a game changer for me. I did a rudimentary fit test and confirmed that there were no leaks. I've been wearing this for hours on end and my nose still feels fine. Plus, my breath is less muffled than when I wear my N95, meaning that staff members can actually make out what I'm saying, not just pretend to. I plan on recommending this to my other coworkers as well.
This review means EVERYTHING to us. There are so few masks that have a seal good enough to pass a hospital fit test. We are so happy you recognize this!!! Stay safe!!
This is a great mask and great to wear for long hours at work.
Thanks John!!
Mask fit well and filters were easy to place. However, I bought this specifically to use on a flight, and at the Delta ticket counter I was informed that a filtered mask was not allowed. They didn’t accept my explanation about the thicker filter, and my new $36 mask was essentially useless. Delta passengers take note!
Many customers fly the airlines with ZERO issues. You just need to print out the PDF on our site from FDA council verifying the G-Series is complaint with FAA and CDC flight rules. Once you print it out and show the gate agent they will let you use the mask.
Excellent mask but the strap could be thicker, wider and stronger.
Love that it is reusable. makes me feel so much safer wearing this at work as well! Fits me perfectly. And great price!
And our packaging is 100pct biodegradable !!!
The safest mask on the market. Provides the best seal from any mask I’ve tried so far, it would be extremely difficult for me to use any other mask. I’ve purchased for my entire family. Especially the little ones. Customer service is second to none ! I absolutely love them and what they stand for, 💙💙
Thank you so much!!! The truth!
I have 3 big problems with the CastleGrade G-Series mask: 1. I may be wrong, but the mask does not appear to be N95 certified. The castlegrade website only says they are *registered* with the FDA, but the mask itself doesn't have any of the expected markings, such as TC number (see [1] for what to look for). Searching the CDC database of officially registered n95 respirators shows no results for castlegrade [2]. However, they appear to have unofficially exceeded NIOSH requirements in a lab test: www.instagram .com/p/CFm18wnpWt8 2. The largest size is still too small for my normal-sized face to create any remotely effective seal (I have a normal-sized face - 6' 150-160lb male). 3. No returns. The reality is there aren't many good mask options (most n95s rightly being redirected to healthcare workers), but I would recommend only buying this if you have a pretty small face. Otherwise it's almost useless. [1] Search "counterfit respirators Misrepresentation of NIOSH-Approval cdc", click the first result [2] Go to wwwn. cdc. gov/ niosh-cel (the wwwn is correct). Click "Quick searches" tab -> "Manufacturer or brand" -> type "castlegrade". No results.
The mask is FDA N95 registered as marketed correctly and reviewed by FDA council which you can print out on our website very easily. As for fit it’s not for overweight people but we are making one for large people soon.
I live in Florida and if it is hot out this mask creates a lot of sweat. Cotton is better in Florida.
Unfortunately, my opinion hasn't changed. The mask doesn't fit, and customer service seems to respond to a poor review much quicker than an email. I really wanted this mask to work, but the straps just don't. The straps are not separate where they meet the mask. When the top strap is tight enough, the bottom one is too loose. When the bottom one is tight enough, the top one is way too tight. Just doesn't work.
We are making a née mask for overweight people. Stay tuned!
