Crypto is complicated depending on the types of transactions and wallets you are using. There is NO WAY I could have done my taxes without Coinledger! I used the Expert Review this year, and it was well worth it because I got the guidance I needed and had support when I needed it. I now feel confident for my 2025 taxes.
Had some issues with the platform because my exchange did not provide all of my transactions so I needed help manually creating them etc. I contacted the support team and they were very fast and extremely helpful in guiding me through the process.
If you cant get a human to work on the helpdesk better stop the service. Easy to get in, no way out. Waste of time and energy thats what it is.

CoinLedger is genuinely the best crypto tax software I’ve ever used. For someone like me, who has numerous transactions involving numerous coins across a multitude of exchanges (some of which don’t exist anymore) over several years, CoinLedger has been the most all encompassing and seamless experience to getting absolutely everything reported accurately. Their pricing is also really fair for the service and utility of the product, especially considering that micro-transactions don’t count towards affecting pricing tiers. I had to contact their team several times for help as I was building out my account for complete accuracy and they provided me with really excellent customer service every time.
If your using a laptop be ready for a big disappointment. This app can not run on a laptop and easy programs like Ledger Live and Metamask become a nightmare when trying to copy and paste public keys. Its impossible. After being on the phone with a computer person on one side and a tax guy on the other we could not make it work. Not even Chat gpt could help. Everything Chat gpt tried to do was wrong. This app is a nightmare and real customer support is non-existent. They want hundreds of dollars just to talk with you. Hmmm...I wonder if this app is quirky for a reason! Glad I didnt lose any money on it! I will post with the BBB.

I have used this service for 3 years and do not have experience with other brands. I'm giving 4+ stars because of the help I received from Yuri specifically. The others I tried to use would be rated much lower. I had to request him after struggling to get specific answers from other agents. I won't give a 5 because there are still some hurdles that I think the Crypto tax software industry still need to iron out. Including CoinLedger. Yuri gets a 5 in my book but the engineers need to find a way to work with the various suppliers of API and data to include ALL of the transaction info. There seems to be a lack of standards across platforms and providers (MetaMask, Coinbase, Crypto.com, Ethereum, Arbitrum, etc). Some export all data and some don't. All of them should have all the data but then only export or API some of it which leaves gaps and discrepancies in your tracking and reporting.
While entering various entries into my TurboTax that CoinLedger produced for me for a whopping $179.99, I noticed that CoinLedger repeatedly turned my crypto purchases into MULTIPLE entries to make it appear I had a ton of buys and sells. For example, if I purchased 5 Ethereums on 12/23/2024, CoinLedger displayed it as follows, which is why I will never purchase their product again: .55 ETH 12/23/2024 .45 ETH 12/23/2024 2 ETH 12/23/2024 1 ETH 12/23/2024 .5 ETH 12/23/2025 .5 ETH 12/23/2024 This entire garbage equals to 5 Ethereums that I purchased, not 6 different entries. That's how they trick you into thinking you have a ton of entries, when you really don't. I've never seen this type of dishonesty.
Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We completely understand how frustrating it can be when your tax report doesn’t appear as expected. To clarify: CoinLedger does not artificially inflate your transaction count. What you’re seeing is a result of how crypto trades are broken down on the IRS Form 8949. Specifically, the IRS Form 8949 displays your "disposals" of crypto (events where you sold or traded away your crypto) according to the date acquired and the date sold. The date acquired represents your cost basis (how much you purchased your crypto for and when you purchased it). The reason that one crypto disposal is sometimes broken down into multiple lines on the Form 8949 is because our software is showing the IRS which cost basis "lots" we drew from when calculating your gains and losses. For example, if you sold 6,000 ETH on March 15th, but you purchased this ETH at various days and times before this, there will be multiple entries on the 8949 for this one disposal. This isn’t a bug or an attempt to mislead—it’s actually CoinLedger following IRS guidelines and presenting your trades on the 8949 in the manner that the government requires. We have to show the IRS which cost basis we used for your disposal. Additionally, I would like to clarify something about our pricing model. We do not charge customers in the manner you suggested. The example you shared in your review would actually be one billable transaction, not multiple. Our pricing model is based on the number of billable transactions you make each tax season. Even though the IRS Form 8949 may break up your disposals into multiple lines, we do not break up disposals into multiple transactions - meaning that you are only charged once for each billable transaction on your account. Really saved me a lot of time and money going through CoinLedger. The staff was very attentive to my questions and helped me through this whole process. Real easy to work with also. I will definitely use them again next year.
I was a loyal CoinLedger customer for years... but NEVER again. BUYER BEWARE I was charged $100 for "tax files" (CSV files) that are rejected by TurboTax!! Last year, CoinLedger had a separate CSV file just for TurboTax Online. That option is gone now (implying the bug had been fixed I had hoped). NOPE!! The bug has NOT been fixed. NONE of the CSV files provided by CoinLedger work with TurboTax. The multiple 8949 forms all showed different total amounts! So... what the hell did I just pay this company $100 for? I would demand a refund, but let's face it, the odds of a scam/greedy company reimbursing a customer is slim to none. Their customer support is non-existent and results in endless bot/AI/chat loops that never address the problem (another sign of a scam company). You just keep getting the same videos to watch that in no way address the problem. Getting to interact with an actual human being is also non-existent with this company. I wish I could give them NO STARS for stealing my money. You just lost a past customer CoinLedger. Stealing my money has also earned you multiple negative reviews across the internet. In response to the Coinledger reply... 1. If the “location” feature was on last year, and I never changed it, then your software is buggy and automatically switched it off. Hell if I know. I didn't change it so the fault is yours Coinledger. 2. How about not allowing customers to download and finalize the process until all those little boxes are checked? Right?! I know!! Sounds like a grand idea. Probably simple to code as well. But your company won't do that. Because, you know... your CEO could care less. And that's the truth of it. 3. You lie to yourselves and to the public by stating you take support seriously. You do not. Here's the proof for the 1 or 2 people who read this. Your “Get Help” page shows NO phone number. NO email address. NO chat with a live person. Just the “Our company is too cheap to offer proper customer service” endless AI/bot loop. When at least one of the forementioned support measures have been added to your website, then I will actually believe there is a support team at this company that gives a crap.

When the country is set to something other than “United States,” the TurboTax CSV files won’t be available for download. This is because we only support TurboTax for US customers. Change your country from “Other Country” to USA 4. Last year I used CoinLedger on my own and it was a journey... they were able to help provide some help but I really felt alone and unsure if I was doing it correctly. This year they offered the Done For You option and it was worth the extra money to get it all sorted and organized by a professional, Jared. He was extremely efficient and communicative. I feel like all my crypto is tracked and I donʻt have to worry about any tax issues. I highly recommend them and their one-on-one service. and no, iʻm not an AI bot (exactly what an AI bot would say. haha)
I had an problem with the cost basis not being recorded properly. Benjamin was most helpful in walking me through all the steps I needed to do in order to resolve the problems. All the errors corrected and I am ready to file my taxes now.
This is my first time using the CoinLedger so I had to spend quite a bit of time making sure that it captures the gains/losses of all my tradings correctly. Once I confirm that it does, I find it to be very useful and will definitely use it again next year. It is free unless you want it to generate a report for tax purpose. Pricing is reasonable and is dependent on number of trades you made. I also like it in that it works seamlessly with TurboTax. The helpdesk is also very useful. I highly recommend it.
