What a nightmare
And not my first through FB - they are very unreachable and the interface is terrible. I regret it all and believe they will make it as hard as possible to return - fake email to start with. I bought it but have no presence on my account- stay away!
The Fancy Pro looks good but I planned to use it as an occasional scanner as well as a fancy web cam. But the software only supports jpg photos, not multi-page pdf scans. This was apparent minutes after opening the box (though it does mention jpgs on the website). I opted to return it for a refund, rather than pay for additional software. I sent it back to the UK distributor but the process took several weeks and reminder emails to finally get the refund. Not the worst customer service, but definitely off putting.
They state "thank you for your interest", despite me not having contacted them for five years. They keep spamming you for years and years - once you've engaged with them they will never let go. Avoid.
Recently bought a czur ET16 pro. It was delivered quickly and very well packaged. The scan works very well, but it is "definitely" recommended that you consult a detailed manual, either on the website or via youtube. The output options, the scan options, the adjustments after performing the scans, the OCR are very good even for glossy documents and books, which are best performed in daylight.
I got the CZUR ET-18 Pro scanner to digitize my overflowing home library and make space. It's a lifesaver for converting physical books to PDFs for tablet reading. The scanner is pricey, but considering the space you recover, it's worth it. The software is clunky, crashes after 450-500 pages, and lacks editing options, but saving every 300 pages helps. There's a learning curve, but once mastered, it works great.
Pros:
- Scans two pages in under 1.5 seconds.
- Foot pedal makes scanning easy, though it could be heavier.
- Can scan a 350+ page book in 10-15 minutes.
- Handles various page sizes, including A3.
Cons:
- Poor software quality and documentation.
- Needs better OCR for right-to-left languages.
I've scanned over 20 books in two days, significantly increasing my reading rate. For efficient space-saving and reading, this scanner is a must-have. Get rubber finger grips for faster page-turning.
CZUR's tech support has been responsive, answering questions within 24 hours despite the time difference. Although the scanner broke two weeks after the warranty expired, CZUR promptly diagnosed the issue and arranged a replacement though Amazon-excellent service!
In January 2024 I bought the CZUR ET18 Pro Scanner for a research project involving tabloid newspapers from 1880-1920. Despite COVID delays, I've scanned around 600 pages with great result, including a 200-page binder converted to searchable PDFs, OCR works well, especially, on old newspapers. Overall, I'm very pleased with the ET18, rating it 4.5 stars.
I'm blown away by the CZUR ET24 Book Scanner! It revolutionized my workflow with quick setup, user-friendly software, and clear scans. The OCR feature saves hours, and the scanner's speed, auto- flatten, and finger removal work flawlessly. Perfect for personal and academic use,it's an indispensable, 5-star tool!
I purchased the CZUR Aura Pro Scanner, drawn in by the promise of "High Definition" scanning capabilities. Unfortunately, the reality starkly contrasts these claims. Far from being limited to text scanning, CZUR's advertising explicitly touts its ability to handle images, drawings, and photographs in HD quality. However, the scanner's performance at A3 size, which should be the pinnacle of its capability, is anything but high definition.
The quality of scans, even at A3, the scanner's optimal format, is underwhelming. This is a significant concern given that the scanner is advertised not just for text but also for images, drawings, and photos, suggesting versatility that simply does not hold up under scrutiny. The suggestion that quality diminishes for sizes smaller than A3 and that A4 scans are merely cropped versions of A3 further highlights the device's limitations, not its strengths.
To make matters worse, CZUR's return policy imposes a depreciation fee even for opened packages that were merely tested, which in my case, was necessary to verify the product's inadequate performance. This policy, coupled with a substantial price tag, adds insult to injury for a product that fails to deliver the promised quality.
To potential buyers considering CZUR: be cautious. The company's flexible interpretation of "high definition" and their approach to customer dissatisfaction, focusing on facilitating returns with financial penalties rather than rectifying misleading advertising, is concerning. This experience serves as a stark reminder that what is advertised should be what is delivered, a standard CZUR has failed to meet.
RE: CZUR Aura X Pro
Hi,
I bought this as a Christmas gift for a university professor endanger of being crushed under an avalanche of books. It was easy to set up and did copy books as promised. The only reason it was returned was it was wanted for a purpose not in the manufacturer's specs. Professor tried 3d images of marine samples - think shells - results not as good as a camera.
I returned within the 30 days and my money was refunded without any issue.
A scam: they don't care about backers and payments
I bought a CZUR LENS Pro - Ultimate Document & File Scanner in September 2021, with an expected delivery date of Wed Dec 15 2021.
I never received the product. I wrote to their support, but they answered that they were not in charge of these questions. They don't care: they just said to contact Indiegogo.
I wrote to Indiegogo with the proof of payment, and they just answered by sending a survey to fill in. They didn't say they will contact the Czur company or refund me, no, nothing but their survey. That's Indiegogo and CZUR.
I received the Scanner and I must say it is simply amazing. I too have waited for such a long time to finally receive it (EU), and I already thought this was yet another company which scams...
The scanner works wonderfully!
Much better than expected. I use it to scan my books on languages from Africa (which where written around 1900-1920).
What else can I say?
Nothing really.
I see there are a lot of negative reviews online about this company, and it‘s kind of sad because it is such a great product...
(Shine Ultra)
Does not happen often.
I really thought this was going to be just another scam.
It isn‘t.
I am surprised...and glad.
