AI generated

Customers frequently complained about very poor customer service, extremely long delays, and completely unhelpful responses from the staff when trying to resolve urgent banking matters. People also experienced highly frustrating problems with unexpected account freezes, prolonged difficulties closing bank accounts, and unexpected recurring monthly fees. Though some reviewers were happy with specific branch staff members who provided friendly assistance and excellent service during their visits, consumers noted that digital platforms remain difficult to navigate. Reviewers also stated that international wire transfers and foreign remittances took an unreasonable amount of time to process successfully.

What people say

Stupid system. Robot review team.

I made a multiple withdrawal of $1000 x 9 times at one of the ATM near to my house. On the next day I made another withdrawal of $1000 x 9 times when I come across a row of 4 ATMs at Jurong. These money was meant for my coming holidays with my family of 7 pax’s. DBS locked my account on the 3rd day and there is no one from the bank to contact me until I was unable to do online transfer on the 5th day. I contacted the bank and after explained to them that I am the one who do the withdrawal and the purposes of the money. They asked a lot of questions and also required me to send them copies of my air tickets and official receipt from money changer to proved my words. When I informed that I do not have official receipt from the money changer,I was told to go down to the branch to sign an acknowledgment form which the Q took me 2 hours waiting there. What a stupid system. I need to explain why I need my own money for and also proved my words.😡 Suggestions Please disable the function for multiple withdrawal at all ATM across the island if it is not meant to be convenience for customers. Don’t even deserve a single Star.

Non existent service

Relationship managers would send you emails trying to get you invest money with them but have 0 service when u have a problem. Shittiest bank I have ever dealt with Filed for a merchant dispute in April that I was scammed over $2500 and sent all evidence of being scammed to them. They took their own sweet time in doing the investigation and only called me when I was overseas and unable to take the call. I came back and raised the dispute again and this thing went back and forth for 6 months, and they just told me the dispute period is over. For DBS such a huge bank , its such a joke that their only channel of contact was to call me, when they have my email to reach out to me should I be uncontactable by phone. Stay away from DBS/POSB - Piece Of Shit Bank

I experienced hostile customer service…

I experienced hostile customer service at the DBS branch in Plaza Singapura. The bank staff seemed indifferent and directed me to open a bank account via the DBS app. Their customer service was notably poor, especially considering I visited the bank in person for expedited service and to deposit funds. Therefore, I proceeded to another bank to make the deposit. The experience at the previous bank was unsatisfactory.

DBS Corporate is one of the worst ever…

DBS Corporate is one of the worst ever experiences you can ever inflict on anyone. Dealing with them is the perfect revenge against anyone you hate. I've had little issues with personal banking, but the corporate side is so badly mismanaged, trained, inconsistent, and irresponsible banks I've had to deal with ever. Here are a few examples. 1. Submitted an application for a corporate card to a bank branch. Did not hear from them for a month. Where is my card? Called them, they said it was still sitting at the branch i submitted to because there was some follow up information required. Which they did not bother contacting me about AT ALL until I called to ask. 2. Called them 6 different times on how to update company information to add new directors. Every single time I had different information. First call, need Document A. Second call, just need Document B. Third Call, Document A and B. Fourth call, just Doc B. End up document B is correct. If I called only once? wrong, waste time and money 3. Something as simple as where to submit documents also cannot give proper answer. Staff tells me can submit to any DBS branch. Then I ask if specifically branch located in Raffles Place can? they say cannot. How is this any branch? If i never clarify? Completely useless and unprofessional. Yet stuck with it so have to suck thumb and every single time i need to deal with them? Call 5-6 times

Worst Bank - No customer service

Bank only interested in 1 thing - how they can make money from you. No customer service, closed our business account without sufficient notice - no text, no email, no WhatsApp - so we are now left trying to put together our yearly tax without any bank statements. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SIMPLY AWFUL BANK....not to mention high high high fees- don't be fooled by their lies to get you in!

DBS BANK

DBS BANK — A PREMIUM BANKING NIGHTMARE DBS Bank has been, without question, one of the worst banking experiences I have ever endured. I opened a DBS Treasures account in mid-August, expecting premium service and professional handling. Weeks later, I STILL do not have basic access to my own account. No proper account access. No debit card. No credit card. For a bank calling itself “Treasures”, this is nothing short of pathetic. What exactly is “premium” about a customer being left without even basic banking facilities? The entire onboarding process has been shockingly inefficient. The customer is made to chase the bank for things that should happen automatically. Every interaction seems to involve delay, confusion and frustration. The service standards are nowhere remotely close to what one expects from a premium banking institution. My experience with the Treasures team has been particularly appalling. My dealings with Mr. Thomson, Mr. Suresh and Mr. Karthick have been an exceptionally frustrating experience. There has been a staggering lack of urgency, ownership and accountability. Simple matters are made unnecessarily complicated. Communication is poor, follow-up is exhausting and resolution appears to be an afterthought. Even basic banking requirements become a prolonged ordeal. And the experience does not improve when it comes to mutual fund management. Investment-related service has been equally disappointing and far below what I expected. When customers entrust a bank with their banking and investments, they deserve competence, responsiveness and accountability. Instead, DBS has delivered delays, frustration and an extraordinary amount of unnecessary hassle. The gap between the image DBS projects and the service it actually delivers is astonishing. A premium banking relationship should make a customer's life easier. DBS has managed to do precisely the opposite. I have never experienced such a fundamental failure of service at the very beginning of a banking relationship. If this is what DBS Treasures considers premium service, customers would be better served looking elsewhere. The entire experience has been utterly unacceptable. From account opening to basic access, cards, customer service and mutual fund management — everything has been an unmitigated disappointment. DBS has turned what should have been a premium banking relationship into a complete nightmare. DBS Treasures: premium branding, but an exceptionally poor customer experience. I would strongly question the value of calling a service “Treasures” when the customer is treated with such little urgency and efficiency. This is not the premium banking experience I was promised. It is one of the most frustrating and disappointing banking experiences I have ever had.

DBS service is pathetic

DBS service is pathetic. They are quick to freeze accounts if the number of transactions exceed a certain limit. You loose access to your own money. I can see numerous reviews with similar issues. Stay away from them, they are utterly useless. Customer service is very poor too, despite providing them all three proof they ask for they take time to release your money. A good tactic used bt DBS to hold.on to customer money for long. Very unethical and corrupt trade practice.

Not returning my money!!!

I closed my DBS Singapore account almost five months ago. DBS has still not returned my remaining funds despite repeated attempts to resolve the matter. I have escalated the issue through the formal dispute-resolution process. I am still waiting for the return of my own money.

1 Star

1 Star – Worst credit card security I have ever experienced My experience with the DBS Singapore credit card has been extremely disappointing. During my first year in the UK, my wallet was stolen while I was in London. The thief managed to make unauthorised transactions of almost SGD 8,000 using my DBS credit card. What shocked me the most is that these transactions went through without me providing any PIN, OTP, or any other authentication. What makes this even more frustrating is that my HSBC UK credit card was in the same stolen wallet, yet not a single unauthorised transaction was made on that card. This clearly highlighted the difference in security systems. I have also used credit cards from ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI, and HSBC, and in my experience they have much stronger fraud detection and security measures. I have never encountered anything like this with any of those banks. The most disappointing part was DBS's response. Despite reporting the fraud, I was not reimbursed for any of the unauthorised transactions, and I was ultimately held responsible for the loss. Losing nearly SGD 8,000 was financially devastating. DBS promotes itself as one of the leading banks in Asia, but my personal experience with its credit card security and fraud handling was extremely poor. Based on what happened to me, I have completely lost confidence in their credit card security. I would never recommend a DBS credit card to anyone. If there were an option to give zero or negative stars, that is what I would choose based on my experience.

A fluctuating and poor experience with DBS Singapore. Neither their upper management nor their CEO, Ms. Tan Su Shan, show any concern for it despite multiple complaints! My case has been dragging since April 22 for more than 2 months between their senior managers. Despite the case being escalated to their Head of Customer Center , Ms. Jessie Chng Lay Ping, and acknowledging their internal poor management and handling process, yet she refused to handle my dispute!!! DBS CEO Ms. Tan Su Shan, could you clarify this outstanding service from your beloved team?

DBS bank @ Jurong East on 24th June

DBS bank @ Jurong East on 24th June. The guys with Ipad refused to allow the use of the ipad for log in since 12 something till 3 something. Please hire AI robots or just put the iPad or computer for someone to use or allow internet access. Other banks can support but here - v bad service. Only after complain, the lady came to offer the ipad. Please look into your staff - many staff but bad service. Simple things also cannot provide like others bank.

Useless bank- lies and false promises

Useless bank. My father is a prime customer with all his deposits in there. The bank is poorly organised in terms of lack of transparency and leadership amongst roles. Their foreign remittances are a joke. It took us 26 working days to get a sum of 10 lakhs sent from India to Europe while other banks take 2-3 days. These morons live under the DBS umbrella (DBS Singapore is not DBS India)
