I had pre order jitters of a non-returnable item. I had many questions. Each time I called, I got a live person to speak with. Email answer was exactly what I had asked about. I felt my concerns were addressed before I placed the order. After the order, I received an email explaining what steps to take regarding truck freight acceptance and refusal. This further allayed my fears of getting a flawed or defective item without recourse. Can't wait for it to arrive now.
Since buying a 40-year old sailboat last year, I have ordered a bunch of gear from Defender to repair or upgrade my boat's systems. I like the prices and selection. They have been helpful and supportive when I have questions or problems with an order. My only complaint - the web site needs category-specific filter criteria, which would greatly simplify search results.
I tried to find past purchases for re-order. Luckily, I could pull up past orders and then dive into each respective order. It would have been more convenient, when past purchases just list the item first.
We have been coming to Defender for years - today was our last time . We had a mercury outboard under warranty- they told us it was a fuel issue which voided the warranty. We paid for the repair when we picked the motor up from the shop the mechanics told us it was not a fuel issue - We.spoke to the manager who was combative, contradictory and rude . Like many other reviews state Defender has gone so far down hill - like them we will never return
