I had some issues verifying my address…

I had some issues verifying my address as my physical, legal address is one where I do not get mail and I do not have any bills in my name. I spoke with Sarah who was helpful and sent a message to the underwriting team about the work around I’ve used before for credit card application and the Global Entry Program. However, when I was told that that wasn’t acceptable, there wasn’t much communication about a solution. I spoke with my school’s financial aid office and they sent me a copy of my award letter which we used and was accepted. The platform itself was quite easy to use, though it was a bit frustrating that when looking at loan options and you click “see loan details” you lose some of the information in the original page. I also had a conversation over chat with Virginia to confirm that deferments for residency up to 57 months (as I was quoted on Juno) was an option as that didn’t show in the loan details and while I did eventually hear that the deferments can be applied for, it was unclear whether it can be extended to the 57 months or it maxes out at 48 months. Additionally, while I was chatting with Virginia, I got kicked out of the chat and had to restart.

Great customer service and quick response to questions. I was told originally that I, Philip Schloop, could refinance the loan. Then during payoff process, I was told that wasn't true as I wasn't the borrower or cosigner. I had told person on the phone while finalizing it this as was told it wasn't an issue as it showed on my credit report. Had to resubmit under my wife.

Pleased with my experience

I was very pleased with my experience; however, I never received the final email requesting my signature for the loan. No one contacted me until I received an email stating that the loan was denied because it had expired. Therefore, we had to restart the entire loan process. Other than that, everyone was incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable!

This was surprisingly easy, straightforward, and transparent. I have put off refinancing due to waiting for my credit to increase and fed rates to decrease. The time seemed as good as it would ever be, and Earnest was a great choice. I am happy that the quick “rate check” was accurate. The signed loan documents had a rate that was the same at the rate check. Which was nice since I have seen other companies show lower rates at the rate check to draw you in. Excited to get these paid off through Earnest.
