Going down to the passport office was great. I was prepared. However, the program had me acquire all the right documents, but made me print out and collect way more than I had to and had my pay $80 more than I had to. I did not need a rush passport, I had plenty of time, so just be careful with that, bring a blank check and fill it out there. Otherwise the program prepared me well.

I found the service after searching Google for expedited passport services. Because it appeared prominently in the search results (through what I believed was Staples), I thought I was paying for a legitimate service that would help expedite my daughter's passport application. Instead, I paid $250 for what was essentially an AI-generated passport application. When I arrived at my passport appointment, the acceptance agent immediately noticed errors in the application, including that it listed HelloGov's email address instead of my own. I had to discard the application and complete an entirely new one by hand before my appointment could continue. I also still had to pay the U.S. Department of State's expedited processing fee (about $240) because HelloGov does not actually provide or pay for the government's expedited passport service. In other words, after paying HelloGov $250, I still had to pay the government separately for the only expedited service that actually mattered. What concerned me most was that HelloGov required me to upload a photo of the personal check I intended to use to pay the Department of State. When I mentioned this to the passport acceptance agent, she became very concerned. She told us that they frequently see applicants who have used third-party passport services like this, advised us to contact our bank immediately, and recommended that we report the charge as fraudulent because of the amount of sensitive personal and financial information these services collect. She also recommended applying directly through the U.S. Department of State in the future. In the end, HelloGov didn't save me any time or effort. It created more work, delayed my appointment, cost me an unnecessary $250, and left me worried about the security of my personal information. Save your money. Complete the passport application yourself for free and apply directly through an official U.S. passport acceptance facility. That's exactly what I ended up doing anyway.

It’s expensive! But good for people who need guidance. Receiving forms and tracking is good. But my husband went through the post office , paid $132. and had his passport in a week!
