Important Features Removed, Now 5-Star-reviews from new accounts
They removed the option to create Unlimited Avatar III videos, and the flood of five-star reviews from new accounts doesn’t look suspicious at all.
14 of the last 15 five-star reviews (as of July 10, 2026) are from accounts with only one review each — lol.
Meanwhile, the one-star reviews sound much more believable.
The only five-star review from an older account was originally rated one star and was later changed to five stars. Make of that what you will.
This whole thing looks shady, and I have absolutely no trust in this company.

HeyGen announced the credit-based changes to our plans for any new users, and gave all legacy customers the option to stay on their plan as long as it stayed active (no lapse in subscription).
For most of our customers who are using the new avatar models, the new plans offer more video creation per month.

I ENJOY THE APP OVERALL MAYBE I NEED MORE TRAINING. I DIDN'T SEE A PREVIEW OF EACH VIDEO BEFORE USING MY CREDITS UP. ALSO SOME OF THE SINGING VIDEOS LIP MOVEMENTS ARE OFF AND SOMEWHAT STIFF MOVEMENTS. I LOVE THE AI AGENT I JUST DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO PREVIEW THE WORK FIRST SO MY CREDITS WENT FAST.
The help you get when sorting out issues with videos is the best I have come across and the willingness to give credits back when the tool does not produce what you are expecting is great because you know that you want us to have the best experience in using the tool and will ensure we do not go looking for other tools to get the result we want. The key reason why it is not ten out of ten is because you cannot generate part of your final product to know it is going to lip sync properly or do the movements you want correctly. There also seems to be a bug that there is only one environment you can create your own avatar voices under by description. I use Firefox as my default and you cannot successfully do it under that.
4 of 5 stars (perhaps even 3.5). HeyGen is difficult to navigate as a beginner. If considering HeyGen, you should watch the Tutorials and YouTube beginner's videos. The AI is nowhere near perfect. Hallucinates a lot. But with a lot of patience and re-dos, we finished creating 14 videos that overall we are happy. Since HeyGen is relatively new, I'm sure they will fix the bugs over time and perhaps consider making it easier to navigate around their website. Lastly, I'm quite pleased of their Chat customer service. When I complained about hundreds of my credits have been spent with final videos generated by HeyGen had AI hiccups and hallucinations, they promptly credited me back those credits so that I can start the entire video again rather than editing.
