Just moved into a new property that has hikvision cameras set already, I just needed some guidance how to connect to cameras, he didnt seem to know much and insisted i should get installer company to set me up. I have done our cameras in the previous property, luckily i didnt choose HIKvision at that time!
The software lets EVERYTHING down. It doesn't matter what the camera quality is like, or the cost of the devices, if the software is corrupting the video, and brick entire video files then you might as well not bother having cameras. The error codes in the iVMS are utterly useless, no proper errors as to WHY the error has occurred, no knowledge base (as to my knowledge) to search for error codes. Since the iVMS won't playback my videos, I have to resort to using the Web UI. The online Web UI is something from the year 2000 era, designed to use proprietary plugins built for Microsoft browsers only. I'm amazed it never occurred to HikVision to get a web UI that works with other browsers using HTML5. When trying to download the files directly from the NVR via the web UI, they inevitably come down as corrupt. Utterly useless and a dreadful security company; they seem to be ignoring the reviews because other people have been posting similar problems a few years ago and nothing has changed! Don't waste your money, and go with someone else.
HIK vision cameras are OK - apart from when you try to zoom in. Very grainy and unclear close up photos from zooming in. Software is VERY limited and usefulness of the system is very low. Has NO fast forwarding option. Helpdesk VERY unfriendly and snotty.
The technical support line is answered by an automated machine which tells you your place in the queue, however, when in position 1 in the queue you get a message saying "if you wish to continue to hold press 1" then on pressing 1 the line gets cut off and you have to start the whole process again.
If I could give this company a zero I would. The customer service is appalling and will try anything they can to not help the end user. I ended up contacting a senior within the company who will hopefully be able to help however the normal service email is managed by useless individuals who will try and tell you they ‘don’t directly deal with the customer’ and that you should ‘contact a local installer’ even though I would be able to resolve the issues I am facing myself. I was also sent a rude and sarcastic email when I said that I had found an individual to help me with my query which was completely unprofessional. Clearly I am not alone with this opinion as every single review on here seem to say the same thing. Absolutely appalling and I have files a complaint.
Absolutely the worst customer service from any company I’ve ever dealt with. Product worked for about a week, lost everything and was told there was nothing that could be done. Do yourself a favor and go with a different product!
Absolutely appalling service (as in you can’t get any) from HikVision. My installer is no longer on the scene and my system isn’t working. You need a degree in network engineering to set the thing up and trouble shoot and when I contacted HikVision directly, stating no installer available, they simply refused to help. And not politely either. Complete waste of money. Avoid at all costs.
A rubbish update. Why when there was a perfectly straightforward user friendly & easy to use system have you forced this upon us. I was full of praise for Hikvision. Now I’d not recommend you to anyone. In fact I’d advise they steer well clear.
The app update is a massive backward step . Nothings improved got so much worse !
HIK were recommended as one of the better camera systems with their colourvue range… all was well until recently when they’ve played around with the app and now the camera system is pretty much useless! Tried giving feedback along with lots of other people but HIK don’t seem too bothered about their issue.
My physically, sexually and verbally abusive ex who has been removed from my house over 2 years ago apparently still has access to my camaras. I called hikvision a year ago and was assured he would be removed from the account. I've called several times since then and was told the same story. Just tried to scan the code AGAIN tonite and the DVR is still under his account. Not only am I unable to access the DVR that I was granted in legal proceedings but he us able to and has been accessing the feed to track my whereabouts. Thank you Hikvision for accommodating a violent stalker.
Had hik vision for a few years and the app they have is absolutely sh!t never mind the cameras always get playback error save your self the hassle spend the extra £100-200 and get the full ring camera and alarm system least it works
Tried doing a Firmware upgrade of a Hikvision NVR. Seemed to work fine. But now the whole unit is now corrupted. I can't even login. Can't use the SADMtool. Tech support won't help. The tech support Australia was worse that useless. Provided no help or support. Australia's worse technical support. I will NEVER buy another Hikvision product again. Save your money, time and sanity and go elsewhere.
You are unable to get a hold of anyone from Hikvision. Stay very far away from this company. You hold for hours if you want to just speak with someone. DO NOT BUY!
The recorder is horrendous a constant fan going all the time very noisy equipment cheap rubbish
Garbage, the customer service is horrendous , the products are horrible. I returned all of it . Don’t buy this junk. Customer service wouldn’t support their DVR they sold us then hung up on me when we asked to speak with a manager. Called back, the associate said a manager would take my call then left me on hold for 1 hours till I hung up and boxed all this junk back up. Never again Hickvison!
I’ve got the Ring camera which is brilliant
Tried to get support for a non-responsive NVR. Was told to speak with installer. But installer not supporting the NVR issue. HIKVision does not have any technical support of faulty products. No repair or replacement service, only buy new from installers! "Hi Dear Customer, We do not sell products in Oceanian market directly but via our distributors, so we recommend that you could contact your product supplier first. If you cannot reach to your product supplier for some reason, we may recommend some installers for you."
Don`t even deserve one star. Very simple don`t buy any hik vision products. No customer service at all. They stop answering emails after couple of reply send me a support phone number and no one answer there.
I needed to do a factory reset my deceased father's security system. After 6 months of trying to reset with their rubbish technical support. I have had to buy a new system.
