### One star only because zero isn’t an…

### One star only because zero isn’t an option HughesNet provided, without question, the worst internet service and customer service we have ever experienced. We remained customers for seven years—not because we were satisfied, but because we live in a rural area and had no other viable option. The service was never consistently reliable. Streaming a complete movie was nearly impossible. Calls repeatedly dropped, including calls made to HughesNet’s own customer service department because the connection was so unstable. When that happened, they wouldn’t call us back, and we often couldn’t reconnect with them to finish resolving the problem. HughesNet repeatedly claimed we had used all our data, even during periods when we had barely streamed anything and hadn’t managed to watch complete movies. We were told that exceeding the data allowance would only result in slower speeds, but what we experienced wasn’t merely a slowdown—the service would become completely disrupted and totaly unusable. Technical support was equally frustrating. Technicians would identify problems or recommend solutions, only for HughesNet to refuse to authorize or implement what its own technicians recommended. We spent years calling, troubleshooting, repeating the same information, and being passed around without receiving a lasting solution. We paid every month for a service that frequently failed to provide even basic, dependable internet access. The moment fiber internet finally became available in our area, we left HughesNet. Since switching, the difference has been unbelievable: reliable service, uninterrupted streaming, stable calls, and none of the constant excuses or mysterious data problems we dealt with before. That alone confirmed that our devices and usage were not the real issue. Seven years with HughesNet gave them more than enough opportunity to provide the service and support we were paying for. They consistently failed at both. I would never recommend HughesNet to anyone. If it appears to be your only option, investigate absolutely every possible alternative before signing up. Being without internet may be less aggravating than paying for internet that repeatedly doesn’t work.

If I could give them zero stars I would.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. The absolute worst internet service I ever used. We're in a rural area and thought this was our only choice. It started out pretty reasonable, but then it shot up to $150 a month for terrible internet and customer service. Nothing would load, if you had more than two devices it would slow down to a crawl, and we had the fusion! We switched to Starlink and couldn't be happier! It's way less expensive, and works GREAT! Run, don't walk, from Hughs Net.

They claim "free professional installation " What they don't tell you is when you finally realize that starlink is 1000 times better and switch to them they will not come remove the big bulky dish on your house nor will they fix the holes they drilled in your house or roof. They do however expect you to get a box off the dish and mail it back to them. What a crap company

The person I spoke with was very courteous and patiently walked me through the exact process of how to report damage to my house and damage to the HughesNet satellite dish.

It’s constantly in and out. The WiFi is sketchy all the time it’s never a solid signal and the antenna was placed right at the corner of my house as soon as you pull in my driveway But what’s an eye sore for good wifi? ITS NOT! Because my wifi sucks.

Absolutely terrible when I signed up…

Absolutely terrible when I signed up they told me I wouldn’t have a cancelation fee just went to cancel and they want 400 bucks, these people are so dishonest, one agent said they could cancel it if I stayed another month and then when he transferred me they said I couldn’t do that.

I would not give this company even 1…

I would not give this company even 1 star. I am writing this on behalf of my disabled 68 year old relative who no longer has use of his hands or arms to use a computer. He had the service for over 7 years. The service was cancelled in April 2026. Hughsnet insists that the very old, outdated equipment be returned via a box they mail out. But this relative has no street mail box delivery in the rural area, and Hughsnet will not send to a PO box. The company agreed to send a technician to remove the equipment at no charge, but no arrangements to schedule have been made for 2 months. They keep saying the work order is pending and it is the residence's responsibility to keep following up on it. This company has no US based customer service, no US address to send communication to, only a telephone number to get routed around for an hour or more every time a follow up is made. The customer service people can only follow protocol and procedure. I suspect they anticipate that after a few months customers who have cancelled will just give up and pay the $300. Why won't the company credit the $300 charge and get this over with? Save a local dealer's time and cost to retrieve outdated equipment. I believe this situation to be elder abuse and have contacted the appropriate state to report it.

Hughes Net Scam - Scam - Scam

Don't be fooled by this company and the reviews, I had to sign and 2 yr contract (One way they get you), then your data will run out so fast but you can buy more for more money (Second way they get you). The service sucks, if it rains you won't get internet, heavy snow, and they won't give you any credit for the times you don't get internet (Third way they get you). If your smart and can take honest advice don't get this service and drop as soon as you can if your locked in. Starlink is the way to go, best on the market for the money and service. Was a customer From 2024 to 2026. George T. Ralston (Honest Review)
