About this business

Lucid Trading is a funded firm that helps futures traders practice their strategies, improve risk management, and build capital as they prepare to trade in live markets. The team at Lucid Trading feels that there is an opportunity to merge elements from the new funded firms and old-school proprietary trading desks. Funded firms are an excellent starting point for aspiring traders. However, once they have proven they are ready for live markets, they need to be supported more in the way a traditional prop desk. Lucid Trading’s goal is to provide a clear path forward through all these phases.

What people say

I had previously left Lucid Trading a 5 star review....

I had previously left Lucid Trading a 5-star review based on my initial experience with the company. Unfortunately, I now feel I have no choice but to amend that review based on what has happened since. I have spent thousands of dollars with Lucid Trading on evaluations and reset fees while learning to trade futures. As many traders know, there is a steep learning curve, and Lucid has had no problem accepting my money throughout that process. The problem began when it finally came time for me to request a payout. I was locked out of my account and told that I needed to verify my identity before I would be allowed back in. I complied and successfully completed the identity verification through Plaid twice. Despite that, I remain completely locked out of my account while Lucid says they are reviewing my trading activity to determine whether I violated any rules. I have not broken a single trading rule, so I have absolutely no issue with them reviewing every trade I made. Review them. That is not my complaint. My complaint is the way this has been handled. Because Lucid has locked me out of my account, I cannot even access the live chat to ask what is happening or get an update. I have contacted them three separate times without receiving a response. To make matters worse, I then received an email claiming that I had failed to provide information they requested—even though I had already provided it. So at this point, my account is locked, I cannot access support through the normal channels, my identity has been successfully verified multiple times, my payout is being held up, and I cannot get anyone to explain what exactly is happening. How is that fair? A prop firm should be just as responsive and transparent when a trader becomes eligible for a payout as it is when that trader is purchasing evaluations and resets. If Lucid believes I violated a rule, then tell me exactly what rule I violated and provide the evidence. I am completely confident in my trading activity and have no problem with it being reviewed. But if I followed the rules, verified my identity, and earned the payout legitimately, then I expect Lucid to honor its obligations and restore access to my account. And if Lucid simply does not intend to pay me despite my compliance with its rules, then I respectfully request that the more than $5,000 I have spent with the company be refunded to me. I genuinely hope Lucid resolves this quickly and gives me a reason to update this review again. I would much rather be able to say that this was handled appropriately than leave this as my final experience with the company.

I had an issue with KYC

I had an issue with KYC. They simply told me that my information did not match, without specifying what was wrong, and blocked me. I can’t appeal or try again. All of my information and documents were correct. They also sent me a message saying that whenever they DECIDE that everything is okay, they will notifying me.

Horrible excuse of a sorry company.

Horrible excuse of a sorry company. I bought an account and was ~300 away from hitting the goal needed to get funded, I log on for the morning and see that I had somehow already hit the DLL, after asking customer service for an explanation, they claimed that after my take profit hit from the day before my stop loss was left up… which it just wasn’t, because I continued to monitor the market for the next two hours after my trade the previous day and would have very easily seen any sort of indicator had there been one which there wasn’t. Instead, my stop loss (buy) was apparently activated and with no take profit or stop loss, obviously into the daily loss limit. Despite my efforts to tell customer service that there was absolutely no indicator of there being any unfilled order left on the screen for the two hours after I continued to monitor the market they pretty much just said “Sorry Bud :(“ First time I have ever closed a trading account while being up in profit.

Account Under Review ( Issue )

I planned to buy futures acc with lucid, but before 10 days ,while i login they asked to do kyc and I did it , but till ,I cannot able to access my acc ,facing(Account Under Review) but I did't purchased single acc in lucid. the worst firm and the problem ,I faced in prop firm industry .

Frauduelent activity

I have never knowingly subscribed to this company however on the 12th August Lucid Trading emptied my bank account by taking two payments for same amount within a few minutes and then there were additional failed attempts to take money for the identical amount which failed because there were no funds left. There is no contact phone number I can find and any attempt to take to a human on their chat says it cannot do it as I need to do it from my dashboard when logged in. As I do not have any login for this company that is impossible

Extremely disappointing response to the Rithmic outage

I'm extremely disappointed with how Lucid handled the recent Rithmic outage. The outage was completely outside of traders' control. Many of us couldn't close positions, flatten accounts, or manage trades because of the platform issues. As a result, both evaluation and funded accounts were negatively affected. What makes this even more frustrating is that I invested a significant amount of time, effort, and money to earn my funded accounts. I traded profitably for two days and was on my way to reaching a payout, only to lose everything because of an outage that I had no control over. Lucid stated that affected accounts would be reinstated, but my evaluation and funded balances still haven't been restored. Many other traders appear to be experiencing the same issue. Support has been extremely disappointing. Responses are slow, and when they do reply, they don't address the actual questions being asked. Instead, we're repeatedly being told to be patient. Traders deserve transparency and fair treatment, especially when losses are caused by a system failure rather than by poor trading decisions. This entire experience has seriously damaged my confidence in Lucid.

Confusing KYC status — no explanation

I went to start the ID verification process on my account and before I even submitted anything or clicked to begin review, my verification status changed to "In Review." I never uploaded documents or triggered the process myself, so it's unclear what actually happened on the backend. It would help to have clearer communication or a status log so users understand what's happening with their own verification, especially when it seems to move forward without any action taken. Otherwise, my experience with the platform itself has been fine — just this specific issue left me confused about what's actually going on with my account.
