Delicious food, delivered on time. Good communication. Easier way to keep track of protein targets

Hi Rebekah,
Thank you for your positive review!
We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the food and that everything arrived on time. It’s also wonderful to know our communication and protein tracking tools are helping make your experience easier.
Best Regards,
The Macros Team!
It is super difficult to cancel your order or subscription, or even make another meal choice, and the website does not work. It is very slow, very amateur.

Hi Mariana,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We’re very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced while managing your order and subscription. This is not the experience we strive to provide our customers.
Our new team is actively working to improve the website, and your comments help us identify areas that need attention.
We hope your next experience with us is much smoother.
Kind Regards,
The Macros Team
Can’t review the food as it was never delivered. In the order confirmation email it advised that you would receive an email once shipped for tracking, and I received nothing. It’s the day of delivery and I still have no email advising it’s been shipped. I assume my order isn’t coming. Warning others, to save them time and money. I expect a full refund. As far as I can tell MACROS is a scam, buyer be warned!

so, we can assist you immediately.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with Macros. I was charged for an order that was never delivered, and there was absolutely no communication from the company about the issue. The only reason I found out about the problem was because I contacted them myself, and then they said it was because of an error in the system on their end. Their solution was just to deliver that set of meals along with the next weeks.
I had to make last-minute arrangements for my meals for the week, which was both stressful and inconvenient. Throughout the process, there was no real accountability or recognition of their mistake, and no effort to even fully acknowledge their mistake.
The customer service felt impersonal and dismissive, and I did not feel valued as a customer at any stage. Based on this experience, I have cancelled my subscription and will not be returning. I hope Macros takes this feedback seriously and improves their communication and customer care in the future.

Hi Fionna,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback!
We’re genuinely sorry your delivery didn’t arrive and that we didn’t communicate sooner. That definitely isn’t the experience we aim to give our customers and we understand you had to make alternate arrangements due to this error.
While we’re disappointed to see you cancel your subscription, your feedback is really important, and I’ll make sure it’s shared with our team so we can improve our communication.
Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
Kind Regards,
The Macros Team!
Their food is ok but customer service is terrible, they dont respect us customers, I emailed them to ask if we can skip 1 week delivery as we are heading oversea for 1 week, they said yes and everything then they continued sending food on the week that we not home, all foods got melt and went to the bin, i emailed again and they never said Sorry or anything, they let me Unsubscribe and thats it, very poor service
I subscribed to Macros for approx 6 months.
Pros:
- Tasty overall, bearing in mind my menu was high protein, low-fat. It's not gonna taste like a takeaway but it's still pretty good.
- Variety of meals to choose from
- Very convenient, well packaged
- Works great if you're counting macros: hit my goals without much effort in the kitchen
Cons:
- After 6 months, you get through all the meals and start getting bored. They changed ~3 items in my category (Sculpt) every 3 months.
- Gets expensive if you're having it for lunch and dinner every day
- End up eating a lot of "tv dinner" type food: stews, curries, etc. as the other types e.g. roast meat & potatoes aren't great reheated
- User interface not the best. Managed to sign up to 2 separate subscriptions accidentally and ended up with double identical food. Froze it, so it was still edible.
- Delivery is $15 unless you order >$150
Overall:
Great if you can afford it. Meals were superior to some other competitors I tried.
Please do not subscribe to food delivery from Macros. Without writing something to War & Peace, Macros meals are quite good but it’s a Subscription service, which means that once you order meals, they will send and charge for the meals regardless of having numerous email conversations with their support service to cancel all or any accounts. Besides receiving advice from service that my relevant account was cancelled, I received advice that my next meal pack would arrive. I desperately attempted to cancel the meal pack but it still arrived and they tried to bill my credit card for $136.00. I had already contacted my bank and had to cancel my card, which means 7-10 days without my card. My experience is that any pre-prepared meal pack service should be carefully examined but DON’T deal with Macros. They are either fraudulent or incompetent, or both.
Back in the day, I tried to understand what would be cheaper for me, to buy food in store and go home, cooking it myself and eating, or ordering already cooked food, divided on several portions for the whole week and so on.
Of course, the 1st option won and this is why I write this review about Macros. They have a really exclusive offer in terms of cooked food. Not only do they cater to the needs of various people, on various diets, keto, mass gain, sculpt and so on, but also the diversity of dishes in menus is stunning!
To be fair the meals are quite good and no problem with delivery. The issue I had was communication, somehow I ended up on a subscription after taking up an offer, then they started sending 4 meal packs a week each pack contains 18 meals. The website wouldn't let me cancel the subscription and you cant contact them by phone as its never answered, they did eventually get back to me by email and they cancelled the subscription. But I wont use them again, over a 2 week period they withdrew close to $700.00 from my account due to this error. Now I just don't trust them.
Please avoid this company as there don't have a customer service and just a number where you leave message them but no one calls back. When put my email in account got a message that this email is not an account. What a SCAMMMM!!!!
Would not recommend - food, delivery and customer service lacks
I made an order for 20 meals to try as a one-off, and did not agree to a subscription. Subscription appears to be established automatically. I have tried for 5 days to cancel my subscription but the "Manage Subscription" tab on the website generates a loading screen, then goes blank. This has happened on both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on my personal computer and work computer, as well as on Google Chrome and Samsung Internet on my phone. The issue is clearly with the website and I am sure plenty of revenue is generated on this basis - as evidenced by other reviews.
If the food was good, I would happily reorder as from time-to-time I do subscribe to other meal delivery services for convenience. The delivery lead time for the first order was unusually long, and I think its fair that I should get to try the meals before I have to reorder another 20+ meals.
Emails to customer support seem to be initially responded to by either AI or a virtual assistant.
Despite my emails in advance and clear request to cancel, Macros have still attempted to take payments today for another order and have provided no meaningful response to my support request.
To add insult to injury when the delivery did arrive (after 6pm), the box was already open when the delivery agent put it down. I went to pick it up and the box was sopping wet and the bottom ripped out of it and contents fell on the floor. Meals were not convincingly cool on delivery and I suspect my order has been doing the rounds all day in the truck - so if I hadn't collected immediately, I believe it is very unlikely it would've stayed cool another 6-8hrs as claimed.
I did eat one of the meals for dinner, and could categorically say it was the worst meal received from a food delivery service. MyMuscleChef, A Life Plus, and dare I say it, even Youfoodz, are head and shoulders above.
Do not buy from them, they will pin you into a subscription.
I wanted to TRY Macro’s so I could compare it to my current food prep provider. I ordered 20 meals from their website.
A week or so later I get notice that my subscription order is being processed. I contact customer support and speak with their people who I tell this was supposed to be a one off purchase so that I could try their food and that I wanted to cancel the subscription. A few days later, the food arrives. It’s above average.
6 days later, I receive email stating my order has been picked and is ready to ship.
No, no, no. I only wanted the one order.
I send off 2 emails, I phone them only to get an answering machine with a promised call back. Time is of the essence so when they don’t call back a few hours later, I call again.
I explain the situation again. Quote the email I received the previous week. Only to be told that my subscription was indeed cancelled, but not the order.
Apparently by placing even a one off order, you are automatically subscribed to receiving that order every week. I was not made aware of this.
So, they refuse to cancel the order that is now being picked, nor will they refund. So I told them to delete me all together, and now I’ll be getting another 20 meals that I’m not yet ready for, nor did I want!
Extremely poor customer service! DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!
First time ordering, food has not arrived and the tracking link did not work. Customer service offer empty platitudes of investigation and escalation. Perhaps their method of helping you lose weight is based on starving you and not delivering your meals. The liklihood of receiving my order does not feel promising after reading the other reviews. Wish I had checked Trustpilot earlier. Switched from another meal delivery company who always delivered within estimated timeframes, with frequent tracking updates. I am sorely regretting the decision to try Macros.
Very pleased with the quality of the meals. What drew me to this company is the massive range of dairy free meals And also the fact that I can choose the larger sizes. The one downside is they automatically signed me up for a weekly subscription after my first order so you just have to go on and cancel that if you just want infrequent ordering/one off.
Some of their meals are quite tasty (especially the baked Korean chilli chicken), but there's a myriad of issues I've encountered that mean I can't actively recommend people use this service.
1 - When recurring subscriptions don't go through for any reason, you have 24 hours to contact them to organise payment otherwise they defer delivery. Payments occur on a Sunday around lunch time. I resolved an issue Monday at 2pm and was too late, so my meal plan was deferred a week. They don't cancel or bump the subscription they double bill you. If you're not careful you get 2 deliveries the following week.
2 - The food quality has deteriorated as time went on. Pasta has been mushy in certain meals (notably fettuccine with garlic chilli prawns). I've received half portions in the Japanese Miso Salmon (ordering large meals), and on 2 separate occasions the salmon was black around the edge. Unsure on the cooking process but quality was not maintained for what I received.
3 - It's like they've halved the number of meals available for large portions. A fairly standard weight loss diet for a male is 2000 calories. 3 large meals is 1800 - 2000 calories a day. Medium needs at least 4, small needs 5-6. Reducing the product range available doesn't make sense and makes the cost exorbitant. Example of removed large meals are: Green Curry Prawns with Noodles, Creole Fish with Pineapple, Naked Beef Fajitas, Thai Yellow Curry, Beef Rogan Josh, and Takahiro's Teriyaki Chicken.
For the price, and reduced range in the large portions, it is more cost effective (and I am provided with better choice) to purchase from another meal provider.
I've been ordering Macros for a while, and I must say that I've found several issues that the company to improve for a better customer’s experience:
1. On two occasions, I found a dangerous chicken bone and a fish bone in my meals. Macros should enhance their quality control and food safety measures as this poses serious risks to customers.
2. My Macros box has been stolen more than once (not just mine, but also my friends' who ordered Macros) because delivery guys leave the box anywhere, sometimes on the street, instead of ensuring it's left in a secure location or following delivery instructions.
3. The delivery times are unreasonable, especially on Sundays (when most people are off work). I've had to wait all day for delivery, risking leaving my apartment unattended or having my box left in an unsecure location on the street. Other companies offer flexible delivery times chosen by customers or the option to deliver to safe locations such as post office lockers.
4. The website is confusing and not user-friendly, especially for tasks like changing plans, cancelling or freezing accounts, or providing delivery instructions.
