The worst customer Experience I've ever encountered. 24 hrs after I finished all my automation the canceled my account. No explanations, representative reply was rude. All those man hours down the drain. If they're going to be so strict then put an audit feature for your clients to keep compliance. I really dislike this company.

Forced me into new billing plans and doubled pricing
I signed up for Mailerlite.com in April and imported all of my contacts in early June. During import, I received notifications in the app that I would automatically be upgraded to a bigger plan if my subscriber count was above my current tier. Today I find out that this automatic upgrade never happened because they were planning a significant pricing change and plan name change. There was never a notification received about this change. I'm now forced to upgrade into a plan that has features I don't want to pay for that is more than double my old plan. This kind of smoke and mirrors, forced plan change is bad news for any customer. They aren't honest, lack integrity, and won't own up to their mistake. Their support team said, Sorry, nothing we can do, pay the upgraded price. I was so excited about them too but treating customers like this is a non starter for me. Can't wait to find another provider.

Disloyal to Legacy Clients. Shifting Goalposts & Huge Administrative Burden
I have been a loyal, paying MailerLite customer since the very beginning, running a paid 10,000-subscriber Classic account alongside a separate free tier. I used to highly recommend this service, but their integrity has completely diminished. They are shifting the goalposts on pricing and forcing an immense, uncompensated administrative burden onto my business.
MailerLite is drastically slashing their free tier limits—forcing anyone over 250 subscribers to upgrade. When you call them out on this, their "support" merely tries to upsell you to their new Power Plan with a temporary discount that expires in two years, after which you are slapped with a massive price hike.
What they don't care about is the operational nightmare this creates. Because of their forced changes, I now have to pay my assistant to spend hours manually migrating data, rebuilding email automations, setting up new forms, tagging fields, and attempting to salvage past newsletter campaigns between their legacy and new platforms. MailerLite certainly isn't footing the bill for the extra labor they’ve caused us, yet they expect me to pay more for a service I was already receiving.
A reputable business would grandfather in the loyal users who helped them build their company from the ground up. Instead, MailerLite is bleeding their existing clients dry because they are clearly struggling to find new ones.
If you are a business owner looking for a reliable email marketing partner that honors its advertised pricing and respects your time, look elsewhere. MailerLite has lost my trust entirely, and I will actively be looking for a new service to migrate to.
Another reviewer has described what Mailerlite has become as a "bait and switch" operation which sums it up perfectly.
Essentially, they've shown that they have no real concern for their users and that their primary motivation is the mighty dollar first and foremost.
This is such a shame as they used to be one of the best email automation services and I actually recommended them to a ton of people - definitely won't be doing that again!

A masterclass in bait-and-switch
MailerLite built its reputation on a genuinely generous free plan: 500 subscribers, 12,000 monthly emails. That's what brought me in. I built my funnels, set up a few basic automations, integrated everything around that.
Then today, June 16 2026, they halved the subscriber limit to 250 and cut monthly sends from 12,000 to 2,500. To cushion the blow, they dressed it up as a feature expansion: you now get HTML editors and custom templates nobody asked for. How generous of them.
I get that free plans need limits. But there's a difference between honest pricing and engineering a trap: let users build dependency, then tighten the screws once switching costs are high enough that paying is easier than leaving. That's exactly what this is.
The tool works fine. The company's relationship with its users does not.
Corporate greed is choking small hobbies and businesses
I started using MailerLite a couple of years ago for a hobby business. At the time, they offered a reasonable 1,000-subscriber limit on their free plan. Then, they reduced it to 500. Now, they are slashing it all the way down to a measly 250 subscribers.
This feels like a blatant attempt to force micro-businesses and hobbyists into a paid plan. Let’s be realistic: if you only have a list of 250 or even 1,000 subscribers, you likely aren't making enough money to justify an ongoing software subscription.
The moment I saw their latest email announcing this reduction, I sat down at my computer and decided I'd had enough. I built a self-hosted email system that is free forever and allows for an unlimited subscriber list.
I'm glad to be away from this corporate greed. If you are a small creator or hobbyist, look elsewhere—MailerLite is no longer friendly to the little guy.

Greed and Trickery
I used to subscribe to Mail Chimp until they reduced their max subscribers to below the level mine were at. I couldn't afford the paid subscription because I don't make money. Luckily I found Mailerlite and happily moved my subscribers over to them, though I had to learn the new system and start from scratch with my newsletter design.
Now Mailerlite have copied Mail Chimp and have used the same underhand, sneaky, greedy trick of reducing subscribers to 250. Shame on you!!! Not every business makes money and not every user of Mailerlite is a business. Now I have to start all over again. Greedy tricks as they wait until you are committed to their platform and then try to force you into paying. Goodbye...I'll try to find another company with more morals.

Was very happy with this website until they slashed subscriber numbers with less than a month's notice
Was very happy with this website compared to mail-chimp. They allowed me to send out an annual email to my 296 email list subscribers. And now they have slashed the number of subscribers you are allowed from 500 to 250 with less than a months notice. Terrible. I don't need special features, I just need to send out one email per year. I can't afford >£100 to send one email. I don't know what to do now.

epic fail
What is good?
The opening rate and the tracking of a campaign.
What is medium?
The clicks are artificially high, cause they are not per unique user, so one user can inflate the clicks.
What is terrible?
After a third campaign the account got closed without any warning.
To give you an insight, the previous mail was >2 weeks ago and it was mailed to our own customers.
If they would just talk and ask, but instead they just assume things without the proper knowledge.
For me it's a pure dissapointment that you do your research and you think that you find the right tool, but it's just a poor company with even worse communication. Funny for a b2b marketing company.
--------
You say account reviews aren't based "solely" on campaign frequency or engagement metrics, but you don't say what they are based on in my case. After three campaigns to our own customer base, sent over several weeks apart, our account was closed without warning or explanation.
Your reply here continues that pattern: vague references to "Terms of Use" and "platform integrity" without a single specific reason.
If there was a genuine compliance issue, you could have flagged it and given us a chance to correct it. Instead, the account was shut down without notice.
The action of an immediate shutdown implies we as a company are the worst company in the world.
And now, instead of explaining what went wrong, you're giving a PR-crafted non-answer that implies wrongdoing without stating it.
So for anyone else know that your account can be terminated without warning or explanation, and when you ask why, this is the level of transparency you'll get.

Hi Mark, we're sorry to hear that your experience was disappointing.
Account reviews are not based solely on campaign frequency or engagement metrics. We regularly review accounts and sending practices to ensure compliance with our Terms of Use and to protect the integrity of the platform for all users.
We understand this outcome was frustrating, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
I received a speedy and personal resolution to my problem. I was stuck and couldn't fix the problem myself. When I contacted ML support, I felt 'heard' and knew my responder would find a solution for me. He did!

Hi Patricia, thank you for the kind words!
We're so glad our support team could help you find a solution and get you unstuck. Knowing you felt heard and supported means a lot to us.
Thanks for sharing your experience 💚
My account was suspended without notice and without any reason. All I did was try to send a campaign to a small list of people who had signed up to receive exactly that email. When I contacted customer service to ask for an explanation I did not receive one and was told that they would not be answering any more emails from me. I am in total shock of this even being possible, I feel terrorized by MailerLite , all my sign-up forms and segments are gone and don't suppose they will be refunding me for the unused time left on my subscription.
Had a wee glitch with my computer and they helped enormously, offering solutions. Would highly recommend the support service that I received. Very clear communication and in a very timely manner, Thank you

Account can be terminated with no explantion or appeal procedure!!
Be VERY careful with this company. I started using them, spent quite a bit of time learning their systems etc. Then, completely out of the blue, with no warning, they suspended my account! The notice just said terms and conditions breached and your account will be terminated. Because I was on the free plan, it was very difficult to contact an actual human being. When I did via email I just a very curt reply, no explanation, no way to appeal their decision! So I have no idea at all what I was supposed to have done I was using the service for a charity I worked for. Having no explanation and then no appeals procedure is utterly ridiculous! So I have moved on to another provider. So they might look good but without warning, you could be thrown off their service with no explanation at all!

I paid $260 for MailerLite
I paid $260 for MailerLite, but my account was terminated before I was able to actually use the service or send my campaign.
Their reason was that the email campaign was considered spam or a violation of their policy. However, this was an official business email campaign, and the mailing list was exported from our own customer database. The recipients were existing customers who had agreed to receive newsletters and marketing updates from us.
The list was not purchased, scraped, rented, or obtained from any third party.
Despite this, MailerLite terminated the account, refused to refund the payment, and did not give us a fair opportunity to provide proof of subscriber consent before closing the account.
From my experience, this feels like a very unfair business practice. They accepted the payment, closed the account before we could practically use the service, and kept the money based on a vague spam-related reason.
I would not recommend MailerLite to any serious business that uses legitimate customer lists and expects fair treatment.

Restored data
After we accidentally deleted some data, we contacted support. They responded within half a day and resolved the issue immediately. The data is back :)
Excellent email marketing platform.
I come from ActiveCampaign, and I can say, I'm glad I've changed my email marketing provider.
It's cheaper, it doesn't have unnecessary clutter, the text editor is much more reliable (and you have several of them).

Absolutely terrible service
Absolutely terrible service, with so many bugs and lags. It takes so much time to create an email campaign, simply because of these lags and bugs. Do not recommend.

Not user friendly and very rude
Mailerlite isn’t user-friendly and their customer service is quite rude. Rather than working to solve any issues, they’ll quickly boot you even if you’ve paid and not respond at all.
I reached out to understand what had happened after they paused a time sensitive campaign and suddenly suspended my account. I got a very rude moral high ground response assuming that I was acting in bad faith (I had made a first time user error of including an unsubscribe variable not realizing that their variables are blank?). I explained the situation and got zero response after. Not the customer service you’d ever want. There are much better platforms.
And they’ll respond to this taking the moral high ground without trying to work with paying customers or assuming any good faith. Always the sign of a great business.

You can use the chat support once. After that, there is no option or button to contact them. Good platform, but not really good service. I'm tired. Whole setup for nothing
