What people say

Terrible customer support

While I had it working for the 22 days of ownership. The mower stopped charging I have sent countless emails all they keep asking for are more pictures and log feedback reports of all the emails I have sent them 20 plus photos and videos of the problem also sent them 4 log feedbacks as per their request. How many emails and logs do you need to fix the problem so in my opinion customer support is non existent that is there down fall

Mammotion Luba 1000

The Mower: It is outstanding on inclines. There is only one small area of an incline it can not cut and that because there's a dip, which causes the mower to bottom out. I'm having an issue with it leaving several blades of cross uncut along it's cutting path. I'm not sure if it is a design flaw or one of the blades is already dull. But I've had that problem out of the box. This occurs even after cutting the yard in both directions. This unacceptable for a mower especially for $2,000. One thing that was not fully explained prior to purchase was how much open sky you need for the mower to be fully functional. I have two large trees in my yard and every time the mower goes under them, it loses reception. So, my yard that should take 5 hours to do two passes, takes over 18 hours. I'm currently waiting for bar to mount it on my house. The good thing about it being electric is, it's so quiet, I can let it run at night. The Software: It was relatively easy to create the boundary and the "no go" areas. I did have to play around with how close I could drive the mower to objects when creating the boundary. So, I had to delete and reset the boundary a few times. There are several preset settings for the type of mowing you want. From single pass to double pass to the level of precision of the cut. I would like the mower to connect to the phone via WiFi instead of Bluetooth. Customer Service: Currently the only way to communicate with the company is through email, which is very frustrating. When I first ordered the mower, it was sent back after reaching my state. When I emailed them, I received a reply several days later with a link to the order that was sent back. Then I received a separate email that an order had been shipped to me but did not specify what the order was or give me any tracking info. To their credit, it was shipped priority. I ordered the bar to mount on my house over a month ago and I have not received any info on when it should arrive. Overall, I'd give the mower and company 2.5 stars and I can't recommend it until the issue with not cutting some of the grass is resolved.

I love my mower since all I do is week…

I love my mower since all I do is week whack now. I love being able to send my mower out and do other chores around my house. But I think there is still many things that need work. There needs to be a way to edit the maps, I mow my lawns in zones due to having a large yard. Especially since finding different problem areas and I have to delete and redo my maps. Being able to edi would make a world of difference. Next would be notifications, it sometimes get stuck. Then I do not know unless I go outside to check or my neighbor will text me when it gets stuck. The final thing would be to be able to locate via WIFI, because if I am not in bluetooth range I don't know if it is stuck or not. I love being able to pick the height of cut, great feature besides it being a robot mower. And love the look of it as well, reminds me of the Batmobile, just need to get it a 'garage' now. One final thing, and it is a Wishlist item: To be able to change the direction of mowing. Example, when doing borders, one week, for it to go clock wise then the following, counter clockwise. Along with changing directions of the regular mowing. Keep up the work, I definitely do not regret getting the mower. I know features will keep being added. Thank you for all the work.

I have been using the Luba daily for…

I have been using the Luba daily for the passed month and there is good and bad. There needs to be a way to unlock luba when it goes into lock down without being in person or a way to wifi control the unit, as well. I used to have another brand of robotic lawn mower where you could manually engage the blades and control the unit into areas you don't have it go, are not being cut, etc. So far it has been an 8/10 but it is starting to kill the Gras in multiple spots of my lawn, especially at the end of channels where areas are connecting.

The good and bad

I really like that it's wireless and you can mow straight or put any angle you want on your lawn. Dislikes...I have 3 Luba's to do my 2.5 ac yard. They sometimes stop, not getting stuck or hung up, just stop for no reason. If I don't see them quickly they turn off and go offline. When I start them back I have to do the whole yard again. Won't start where it quits once it goes offline. Another thing, I can't get them to hook up with my phone when I'm not close to them. Also won't alert me when they stop. Probably cause they won't connect to my phone. They also skip a small strip like 2 or 3 inches here and there. That's aggravating. I keep hoping they will come up with an update to fix these problems. Just haven't seen one yet. I had 2 Husqvarna mowers before. These have a wider cut and makes the lawn look better. I didn't like the wires on the Husqvarna and didn't like it going everywhere. You had to run the all the time. Luba I cut 3 times a week. Hopefully updates are coming soon, then they will have 5 bright stars

5 star product... 3 star learning curve!

This is a 5 star product with a 3 star learning curve. After, honestly, 20-25 hours of trial and error; my Luba 5000 is working almost flawlessly. I have a big property which maxes out the Luba's limits. I've set that up into 2 zones that are mowed every 3 days. Grass looks great and saves me 2.5 hours every week to focus elsewhere. One note: routine maintenance is important. Keep the Luba clean and the blades sharp and you won't be disappointed. But if you expect this to be a "set and forget" experience; I suspect you will have issues.

Luba is almost there.

When Luba works, it is a great convenience. The lawns are neat and orderly. The device works quietly and constantly. The negatives are 1) that it looses its way about 25% of the time and will not go back to home to recharge. Where it stops is not predictable and the app does not give you a notice that Luba is stuck. If it has been stuck more than a few hours Luba looses its charge and you will have to carry it back to the charging station; otherwise you can use the app to drive Luba back to its station. 2) Even at the charging station a charged Luba will sometimes not be accessible from the App and you will have to go out a nd move it or restart it. 3) Also, when lining up with the charge port, Luba does a little dance and creates a circular path and destroys the grass at that location. It really needs a mat. The mat cannot be insubstantial. I tried a plastic mat and Luba essentially pushed it aside with its wheels.

I’m not sure the tech is there- Luba returned

I’m not sure the tech is there. Lost signal beneath the small space of my roof extending from my house- around the whole perimeter and it lost signal around EVERY SINGLE tree. I even have two chopped trees and instead of losing signal it high centered itself on the roots… I have 1.19 acres and it only managed to mow the whole lawn a single time. If something goes wrong and it loses its place- which happened every time for me it then needs to start over from the beginning and you can’t reconfigure how or where Luba starts- which would make sense. I finally learned to divide my lawn into 3 sections and make every single tree a no-go zone but by then I was too tired of the product to put it to use. You will need to weed whack around every tree and close to your house. Finally the razor blades dull quickly but even worse they get loose and you need to replace or maintain them almost every other mow. What should Mammotion do? 1.) There should be a cutting mode where you can manually drive the robot. 2.) You should be able to section off your yard and have the robot start wherever you want it to 3.) The robot makes amazing lines but probably needs a satellite/ ground line collaboration. 4.) Do something about the blades loosening 5.) Do something about the robot high centering itself. It can conquer a slope and make pretty lines but I just don’t think the tech is there for anyone with a real lawn.

What I like, dislike and are just plain scared about Mammotion and Luba

What I like. I like the Luba AWD 5000 and so far it’s doing a great job cutting my grass on a slope with a steep hill on the property. It was easy to set up and I’m now currently making the installation permanent. What I think could be improved. When it’s going to cut, the channels between cutting areas (I have 4 splitting an acre) it uses exactly the same ‘track’ and as a result, there are ‘ruts’ and ‘donuts’ as it use the same part of the grass each time. The ability to widen the channel and Luba to randomise the entry between different cutting areas would lessen that effect. Also leaving the charger it also creates a track and donut. What I’d like. The ability to operate the Luba from my phone while it cuts the grass. I have a thick, tree boundary where it stops and if I could ‘manually’ cut this area, that would be good. What I hate. The communication from customer services is pathetic. When I ordered the machine, it was over 2 weeks late - no communication from C.S. And it was supposed to be ‘tracked’ when delivered. Luba was delivered (luckily my wife was at home), otherwise a £2950 machine may have been left at the door or not delivered and therefore mess me about. I actually got the tracking email the day after delivery. Also not all of what I ordered has yet been delivered. I’m still waiting for my wall mounting bracket £75 and additional blades. Customer Services has told me they were contacting logistics but I’m waiting around 4-5 weeks as I write this and still no sign of them. What I’m really ‘scared about’ If Luba breaks down or something happens, there are currently no dealerships in Northern Ireland and I worry about what would happen in the event of a breakdown. Would they send me a loan machine while it’s being fixed? How long would it take to fix? Would they respond to me contacting them? Do they have an ethos for after service? Do they care about their customers? I’ve already had quite a few people call to see Luba operating, all of whom have large gardens and the money to purchase and looking for a robotic solution. I gave a really positive thumbs up demonstration of Luba’s excellent performance, the only thing I couldn’t give was a recommendation to buy. I told them to also look at Husqvarna, Kress and a few others featured on YouTube because of my concern for customer service. If customer service was excellent, replied promptly and were reassuring, I would have unreservedly recommended they purchase the Luba 5000. I put my money where my mouth was and took the ‘risk’ but did want to be responsible for my friends spending the money and perhaps being hung out to dry by poor or nearly non existent customer service. I Love my Luba 5000 but the jury is out on backup!!!! Where are my blades and my bracket??? Remember - if you are a contented customer you will tell your friends, if you are not happy- YOU WILL TELL EVERYONE. I’m still positive but wary with poor customer service.

The machine itself is a good machine

The machine itself is a good machine. Setup is way more complicated. Had to change location and put the RTK on the peak of my roof. But after 9 mapping I got it right and it works fine. Would I buy another brand? No! Luba is worthy. Took a month to receive it. They have no service tech by phone. Something the should work on. For now it does a very good job.

No push notifications

The lawnmower seems good so far, but the app/software is not there yet. My biggest complaint is no push notifications, so you have to checking to see if the robot is paused, or stuck. Second issue is it pauses for every little issue instead of just continuing. The third issue is you have to connect by bluetooth to make schedules, changes or updates, which is frustrating cause i work offshore. It looes signal under the lean-to, carport, camper, and enclosed trailer i wish they had an distance algorithm so it could cut and or cross these areas. Once these issues and the random glitches are fixed I will be happy with it.

Great Mower - Poor Customer Support

My first mower from this company has been amazing. My second mower has an issue with the reference station. It has been over a month now and they still haven’t sent a replacement part. They lack the infrastructure of customer service. No US phone number. Only communication is through email. This would be a great product if that part of the business was figured out.

Disappointed

I was a Husqvarna owner before I purchased the Luba. I was excited for the wireless boundary option. However, this was very difficult to set up. I have 1.25 acres and I would finish the setup and it would say I have exceeded the limit of the plan. You then have to start all over again planning your 1.25 acres for it to mow. The planning part needs some work as far as edits go. The blade design also needs work. I had to clean my blades or wash them very rarely on my Husqvarna. The Luba needs cleaning almost after every mow or the blades cease up. Also the mower will not work if the grass has dew on it, it clogs up under the blade guards and prevents it from mowing, so you cannot mow at night in area that get cool in the evenings. Another issue is the push notification. It will notify you on the app if your mower has stopped but you have to open the app to see this, it does not send you a notification to your phone. Therefore, there are times my mower has stopped working for hours before I realize it. I do like the way it mows in a straight pattern this does put nice lines in the yard. It just needs a lot of work and I wish I would have waited for them to perfect some of the issues, not really a maintenance free mowing experience.

I really wanted to love the Luba but…

I really wanted to love the Luba AWD 5000, but it has lots of rough edges that make it far less useful than I had hoped. Our yard is ideal for a robot mower. It is 1.8 acres but fairly flat with few obstacles. We had purchased Luba in hopes that it would help maintain the lawn. While it mostly does do its job, it is not without close supervision. Forget having the robot run autonomously. Here are just some of the problems we deal with regularly. 1. Luba has problems returning to the dock and charging. Multiple times, I've found Luba dead at the base station. For some reason, it is not able to properly line itself up. Every evening, I need to check to make sure that it is actually charging. Usually it is 1-2cm off center, which is enough for the contacts to be misaligned. 2. The collision sensors are both overly sensitive and yet not sensitive enough. I've seen Luba stopped by a dandelion. Yet, I've also found it lodged under a truck we had to park temporarily on the grass. I would expect that the front bumper wouldn't be deterred by the very vegetation it is suppose to cut. I would also expect the ultrasonic sensors to detect large chunks of metal and go around, but the Luba rammed the truck as if it wasn't there. 3. Reverse has no sensors. I've seen the Luba in a tricky situation near a border and stairs. The front bumper triggered the stairs and it did its little dance to go around. However, there are no sensors on the back side and Luba proceed to mount the stone border in reverse. I had to emergency stop it, but not before the blades hit the stone. This seems like a huge gap in the safety of the system. I had to re-map the yard to avoid this area, which means more areas that need to be maintained manually. 4. The path tracking is not very accurate. The Luba is advertised as having centimeter level accuracy, but I've found it jammed up in areas 30-50cm outside of its activity areas. 5. Customer service has been super slow. I ordered the L-shaped mounting rod with my Luba. I was charged the full amount of my order, but the mounting rod was not part of the initial delivery. Weeks later, I get notification that the mounting rod shipped, but the tracking number was wrong. They sent the original Luba shipment tracking number instead of a the new tracking number. I sent multiple emails to customer support and do not hear anything back. Then suddenly, a few weeks later, I get a couple of emails saying that they are going to look into it. Its been a couple of weeks and I still haven't heard anything back. Customer service definitely needs an issue tracking system so that emails don't fall through the cracks. 6. The app drives me crazy. It is the little things, like being able to name the various mowing areas. The schedule tells you it is going to mow Area1, Area2, etc., but it re-numbers the areas, so I actually have no idea were it is going to mow. I've subdivided my yard into may areas to spread the mowing out throughout the week and I can't tell what is what but looking at the schedule in the app. Overall, a very uneven experience. Luba takes daily monitoring to make sure she is working. I still need to go out and do lawn maintenance periodically because some grasses appear to be too tough for Luba and I get islands of long grasses. Customer support is essentially non-existent. The only good thing I can say is that at least the product hasn't been abandoned and there are periodic updates. Some of the updates were a little uneven, but I hope that as the product matures these problems will get resolved.

We got our machine after two weeks

We got our machine after two weeks, which works as it should no problems, We ordered the garage roof and paid for it but it didn't come. Despite 5 emails still didn't come. So a little worried now about the aftersales service. I wanted to buy another but due to the lack of service and no one to talk to I wont bother.

I ordered both the Luba 1000 and the…

I ordered both the Luba 1000 and the docking cover, the Luba arrived and this is a great bit of kit, easy to setup and has made a massive difference to my lawn. The problem I have had is with delivery of the docking roof I have been waiting for this since 21st June and having emailed several times I keep getting told different dates and still not received this and it’s now August, this would have got 5 stars if the customer service response was any good.
