I purchased a knife for my Son's birthday, as a ex-chef he into good, strong and sharp kitchen knives.
He was so pleased with the knife, and still very sharp.
Being as it was a birthday gift, I sent for the leather pouch for it, this was through a different company, unfortunately some toe-rag must have stolen this from my door, so never saw it to comment on!

A phenomenally sharp knife. Allows me to trim briskets with ease and it remains razor sharp. Just use caution when in use as the knife IS sharper than your standard kitchen knives.

1 Star — DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Read this before you buy.
I got suckered into this "deal" just like you're probably about to. Don't be like me — the glowing reviews are not telling the real story.
I bought a set of 8 Matsato knives, lured in by all the hype. The DAY I opened the box, one of the knives had a large, visible ding directly on the cutting edge of the blade. Not a scratch on the handle, not cosmetic packaging damage — a ding on the actual edge of a brand new "premium" knife.
I contacted customer service immediately, well within their advertised 60-day return window. What followed was the most incompetent customer service experience I have ever had with any company. They demanded a photo of the ding before they'd do anything. Sounds reasonable — except due to the texture and reflectiveness of the blade, it is nearly impossible to photograph the defect in a way that shows what's obvious in person. I tried. My friends tried. My family tried. Nothing worked, and they refused to budge without "proof."
Then they told me I couldn't just send back the one defective knife — I had to send back the entire 8-piece set to get a replacement or refund, but ONLY if I first provided the impossible photo they already knew I couldn't get.
This back-and-forth dragged on for over a month and a half. Finally, "Sarah," who claims to be head of products, offered me a refund of 30% of the cost of ONE knife. Her reasoning? It was now past the 60-day return window.
Let that sink in. THEY ran out the clock with their own circular, impossible demands, and then used their own delay as the excuse to deny me a real resolution.
I am out over $100 for a set of knives so poor in quality I wouldn't hand them to my worst enemy, backed by a company that has zero interest in standing behind what they sell.
Save your money, save your time, and save yourself the headache. Do not buy from Matsato. Now they are asking me to reach out to save face. I've done my part you all failed to do yours.
