We designed an 11.8" seek n find book. Upload was easy, and Mixam actually had human interactions and fixed some bleed issues with ease.
Pricing was extremely reasonable, and less than the previous company.
We received our fifty book order 11 days early. Each bundle of 5 books came shrink wrapped! Colors are great. Quality great. Huge relief.
Now we can send them out to our customers who paid and had to wait though a flawed printing from that other company.
FedEx shipped fast international from Canada to Colorado, USA ...3 days. The shipping boxes were pristine.

This was my first time using Mixam, and I was really impressed by both how easy it was to get my book pages imported and set up, as well as the quality of the final product. Very easy to understand the whole process from start to finish. Shipping was much faster than I had anticipated as well. And most importantly I absolutely loved how my books turned out. I had a horrendous experience working with Mixam. My Mixam order # is/was: 2036302
There was not one single positive aspect; the communications, the turnaround time, the lack of quality control, the poor packaging for shipping - all grossly subpar to any other printer I've used in my 25 years in publishing.
Beware. My recommendation is to stay away. I can go into specific details, show emails, screen grabs, etc. But this site will not let me. This is my fifth time trying to post a review. But, somehow, Mixam keeps getting it taken down.

We would also recommend not openly divulging your personal order number in public.
Chat GPT referred me to design and print my travel magazine. After designing my magazine, in the 3rd party design tool, several features were not available. I could not rearrange each individual page only double layouts. However, in the Preview section, it takes 30 minutes to download a small digest magazine with 46 pages. I have yet to have my magazine printed. Not so much as a proof has been created to go to print and my deadline is in 3 days. Customer service has not helped much. I wish I could find someone else to do this for me.

You also don’t have to use the online design tool. You’re welcome to create your own artwork and upload print-ready files directly instead. Of course, you’re under no obligation to continue with the order if the deadline is now too tight, but we really hope we can still offer some helpful support and get things moving for you.

I had a somewhat difficult time with…
I had a somewhat difficult time with communicating with Mixam. I received an email from them indicating that my payment didn’t go through but after checking with my credit card company…. It did go through. The issue was that Mixam was communicating the payment issue with an entirely different order number. Additionally, I would’ve hoped that they would have printed the copy of the book a lot better.

We’re sorry to hear you found the communication difficult. To clarify, your original payment was received successfully. The payment message related to a separate duplicate order that had accidentally been created and submitted for payment. That duplicate order has now been fully cancelled for you.
We’re also sorry to read that you were unhappy with the print quality. However, we don’t appear to have received any report or photos showing an issue with the book. The review invitation email explains how to log a concern through your order so our team can properly inspect it and help.
We’re always happy to investigate genuine print concerns, but we do need the issue to be reported and supported with images before we can assess what may have happened. Please follow the instructions in the review email and send us some clear photos so we can take a proper look.
Mixam insists on printing thrir own QR code inside the book. This is a disaster for artist's books or for any book where the author cares for the design and appearance of the book. This is unacceptable.

At some of our faster and more automated production facilities, we do use these codes to match the covers and inner pages accurately and efficiently during production. A warning about this is shown in your confirmation message before you approve your order to be printed so we’re sorry if you missed this.
This type of production method is becoming increasingly common across the printing industry. However, we do understand that it may not be suitable for every project, particularly artist’s books where every part of the design is important.

The comics I ordered arrived exactly as I expected! A fantastic print job!
I was very pleased with the many options, real-time calculator, and intuitive user interface on their web site. Most important was the quality of the magazines they produced. My only complaint was the delay in shipping.
The spine of my magazine isn’t centered properly and a few covers arrived with scratches. The spine is an easy fix and should have be able to be corrected by your team or at least communicated with me so I can send another file

We are disappointed to see this raised in a review before following the advice in the review invitation email and reporting it through your order, as that would have given our team the chance to look into it and help you directly.
Your design has a very narrow white spine placed between bold green and blue cover artwork. During binding, covers can move slightly as they are applied to the inner pages, which is a normal part of the industrial printing process and can be more noticeable with a design like this. We do provide guidance about this in our print file setup guide to help reduce the visual impact of any small movement.
The scratches are something we would also want to review, so please log this through your order and include some clear photos. Things can occasionally go wrong, but our team is here to offer support, advice and a suitable resolution when we are given the opportunity to investigate.
