Great experience for my mum's birthday - a gift that lasts a year!
I ordered the book as a birthday present for my mum. She absolutely loved writing her different responses to the questions, and found it very easy to change the questions to ones that suited her story better. She managed to complete the whole book on her phone, and then we spent a couple of days towards the end of the year formatting/editing into the book. It was all so straightforward and she is so pleased with the final product!!
Although this was not my idea at the time I am pleased I persevered with the process.
Although this was not my idea at commencement I thought this was great idea.
However, after a while I began feeling overwhelmed at times in answering the weekly question.
I initially understood their value but soon the questions became too repetitive and too spiritual for my liking.
Accordingly, I chose to formulate my own questions to answer but found the software very "clunky" to carryout these edits - but in the main I am pleased that I finished the book and await the finished product

Stories for my family
This made me write about my life and gave me a framework and timescale in which to do it. Some of the weekly questions were helpful in getting me going, but some were not relevant and some seemed repetitive. I liked that you could pose your own questions, this made it more relevant and personal.
Doing this helped me to recall and recount past events and my family have appreciated the final product.
I did not find the website particularly user friendly, and although the team were quick to answer queries and tried to be helpful, the answers were not always particularly useful.
The ability to crop pictures was useful, but I did not always find it easy to get the caption in the right place, sometimes it came on the next page.
The quality and delivery of the book was fine.
Got my life in a book for my mum. She was thrilled by the idea of it has really enjoyed reliving memories of her life and putting them into words for her children to read. She should be getting the finished book soon and im so excited for her.

Engaging and reflective- a must give present!
My Dad has almost completed his “Life in a Book”, and as family, we are so excited to read it. The questions have been so engaging and it’s been a lovely reflective process for my Dad. Couldn’t recommend this more! Something our family can treasure for years to come.
Really enjoyed doing My Life in a Book with my mother! It was a great way to connect and to create something that the great-grandchildren can enjoy and pass on to their own kids.
Such a lovely gift for a loved one, perfect for any occasion and something you can treasure forever and even pass down through the family.

Keepsake
I purchased three books - for my dad, my mum and my grandparents last may. They have been working away each week to answer questions and it is so amazing that at the end I will have these keep sakes. Easy to use, great questions and good platform to deal with!

Great idea, still needs to be made easier to use
It's a really good idea to gather stories and preserve memories from loved ones. The person I bought this for isn't very tech savvy at all, and managed to write some stories, although she did still struggle. I think there could be more done to make it easier for those who are writing via a tablet and are not tech savvy and don't really know what they are doing. Having said that, I think a lot of enjoyment was had and lots of nice reminiscing done.

Superb company
Superb company; so easy to use and a perfect gift. Both mum's have nearly finished their books from Mother's Day last year. A weekly email to ask a question (great questions too!). We can't wait to see the finished books.
I needed to contact customer service once and they were so quick and so helpful. A fantastic company and such a good idea! Thank you!

Worthwhile, requires effort and commitment but I'm really glad I did it
Our sons bought us this for our 50th wedding anniversary. The end product is very worthwhile and looks professional. So far our family have enjoyed reading it and looking at the photographs. The process was more demanding than I thought it would be, especially when we decided to write our own questions so we could include the stories we wanted to. I found myself living in the past while writing, which is not my style but probably cathartic at my age! I found the system clunky compared to the other IT I use. Re-ordering the stories was a real challenge, as was inserting images. However, I cannot fault the support, which was timely and very thorough

Overall it turned out beautiful!
Overall it turned out beautiful!
We ordered it for our Aging Aunt.
She had a tricky time answering the questions - so we were able to come up with some of our own.
she answered some of the questions with repeat answers, not sure if it is because she answered the questions over a long period of time - so maybe forgot she mentioned it ?!!?!?
She did take over the time limit - so we did have to order extensions - which is too bad you have to pay for extensions.
It is also too bad that the photo sizes were limited - would have been nicer to have more freedom in sizing them
A very cool way to share stories between family members. A great gift!

Fantastic quality and a lovely keepsake
Fantastic quality and a lovely keepsake!
The regular questions emailed to my Father helped me tease the memories out! I added my Mother as an ‘extra’ to his book. Unfortunately it became quite confusing for them both to access the same book to add memories and photos. When it was published the AI audio book did not suit as it read the whole book in my Father’s voice , including my Mother’s additions! The printed copy also didn’t include who said what .
I would recommend adapting the written questions as some might not be relevant. You can also change the language from American English to English if wanted.

A great idea
A great idea to start with - then after the subscription process- all was reliable and worthwhile. Besides feeling a little overwhelmed at times in answering the weekly question I understand the value in this. And yes - sometimes I didn't like the question so I let it be.
My Life in a Book has made me stop and reflect on all the things in my life that are important. I have no grandchildren and only hope one day this book will be shared by my daughter.

'What's not to like'
As the old aphorism says 'What's not to like'
Comprehensive and though provoking weekly questions provided by MLiaB with the option to change some for your own.
Opportunity to collect photos to enhance the book before it is published.
I have especially enjoyed the 'walk down memory lane' this gift from my son has provided to this oldie (80)

Paid for 2 copies of my book and placed my printing order on 02/18/2026. 3 weeks later I followed up to find out the status of the order. After customer service admitted that they “dropped the ball “ I finally received the shipment. Only problem is that they only shipped one of the two copies I paid for and now I’m waiting another 3 weeks for the order to be completed. Make sure that you stay on top of your order or you’ll never receive it.
Follow Up- After writing this review, I was contacted by Customer Service and the COO acknowledging their mistake and then did whatever they could to resolve the issue. In this day and age of impersonal customer service it’s nice to see people stepping up to make things right. Other than the shipping issues, writing this book really focuses you on what is really important in your life
